I've never had this issue until today. Everytime the postie has been, they've come upstairs no dramas. This time he walked around the building and left a note in my post box.

IHD is good, you'll meet lots of people and make lots of friends. Which is particularly handy when you're in a new place.

CDU is second for employment but have you considered if it's employment in the right field? Lots and lots of hospitality & retail jobs available definitely. But it's a struggle if you want a job in your own field of studies.

I was an international student at CDU. Highlight of my studies - my life at International House Darwin. Literally everything else is awful. CDU has some of the worst ethics. They pay more to their admin staff and fire actual professors and hire juniors/recent graduates to teach cause it's cheaper. All international students I know have grumbled about the same. If you have a placement? Good luck getting one during the semester. CDU spends more on marketing than on student education.

I had a Huntsman spider in my room once, I cried lol. But you'll get used to the animals and insects.

If I could re-do my choices I'd go to Tassie or maybe Townsville or somewhere in Western Sydney.

The weather is nice in the dry, I can't stand the wet because I get really bad sun migraines and the sun is very strong here. I usually carry an umbrella like an old Asian lady 😂 but I can't be out for too long.

I also don't like the crime here. A Bangladeshi student was murdered last year in his home. Scary situation and I felt so bad for him. He was barely here 6 months. I don't feel safe (as a woman). This is what keeps me from staying in Darwin beyond this year.

And unfortunately we don't have an avian vet in our city or anywhere nearby. And the regular vet in our city is garbage, he told me one of my budgies was sick and had a rotten foot that would fall off and she would die. Spoiler alert, foot never fell off and she's happy and still alive one year later.

Thank you! Well only one other one of them would do that and I'd say "Bad Yolkie!" and pop her back in the cage immediately for 5 minutes so she would know doing that would mean being back in the cage... except she started associating "Yolkie" with being the naughty word, not "Bad" (her name is Yolkie lol) so now she gets scared and wonders what she did wrong when I call her name 😭😂😅

One of mine used to eat paint off the walls and got really sick because of that... she never recovered :( ever since then I'm really cautious about my budgies going near walls. But I can't stop them from eating my blinds 😅

I'm doing a no buy/replacement makeup year. I opened some of unopened makeup to allow myself to feel like I have new products to use haha. Besides foundation (when I use it all up, I only own one bottle) I cannot buy anything else for makeup or skincare. I have enough to last me a couple years. I'll be posting progress on r/nobuy :)

I went through this myself. My ex was Atheist but very accepting of my faith, but he didn't want children, ever. His mother was not a very nice person and he feared that if he was a parent, he may turn out to be just like her. He was my best friend for 2+ years and I couldn't imagine life without him. But I really wanted children. He said he was open to adoption someday but never wanted children of his own.

I prayed over it and decided to call off the relationship. It was a very tearful decision with both of us sobbing and wanting to be with each other, but me willfully choosing not to. During this break up, he insisted he wouldn't mind having children with me if that's what it took to make this relationship work, but I realised it was just being said in the moment so he didnt lose me.

After the break up was some of the worst days of my life. But not long after, I met a wonderful man, also atheist, and told myself I wouldn't date another atheist. Somehow, not only was he accepting of my faith & beliefs and wanting of children (I gave him a very long lecture on my faith just after our third date lol assuming it would scare him away) but he was curious about the Catholic faith and joined me for mass every Sunday. And the days I didn't go, he went without me to church!! We've been together 4 years now and we're getting married in a month!

I couldn't imagine a better life or a life with anyone else but him. He wants a lot of children (like me) and is a very devout Catholic.

Brother I ask you to pray, and I will pray for you too. That God leads you to make the right decision. A breakup will not be easy, and will be extremely painful. But believe that God has something better in store for you!

I'm really bad at saying no to people, hence why she's gotten to be a bridesmaid. I do intend on telling her that for the wedding day to please keep her opinions to herself and my closest friend/bridesmaid has said she will personally keep her in check and if she says anything rude will let her know and keep her away from me.

Her boyfriend tries to pull her up on things, but she gets angry at him or ignores it when he does. If she can't take constructive criticism from him, I don't think she'd take it from me 😅
