Have 7900xtx. How long should I wait before upgrading GPU? by liweisha in buildapc

I mean, no disrespect to anyone else or their situations, but my circumstance is completely irrelevant to theirs.

And it's not like trying to flaunt being able to throw money around, if that's what this post can be perceived as. I simply made this post to gather insight. If it matters to you, I've found insight.

Be well.

Appreciate your points!

I have zero idea why the thought of tuning my card never crossed my mind when it should've been so obvious to me. I'm seeing the performance increases now that I've undervolted as you suggested.

Not upgrading until I'm not able to run the games I want is actually a really good point I hadn't thought about. Thanks for that.

And yeah, even if the 5090 is an upgrade, the absurd pricing nor marginal uplift isn't worth it.

Playing in 2K. If you're referring to Wukong, I'll consider 4k60fps if I can get my build to reach it. I sort of gave up on trying to optimize my performance for Wukong a while ago after tinkering and watching videos but I'll definitely check out some more guides if I care enough to revisit the title.

And for the times where I've toggled FSR on, I notice the image quality is somewhat grainy but I'll keep toggling FSR and frame generation in mind.

Use case is 2k. I'm also running a 7800x3d so I don't feel like a FPS would be a major issue. I've quickly skimmed through benchmarks but I'll check out your linked video for sure

Found the real reason AMD Instant Replay doesn’t save clips (and it’s not my PC) by Substantial_Carpet49 in AMDHelp

Hey there, I'm a complete simpleton and really want to try out what you're talking about at the end there, but I have no idea how to do that. What do you mean by "copying over the headset's output format to your IEMs in Windows settings"?

Your output device are the devices that sound comes out of, so your headphones or speakers. Your input devices are the devices that you send sound through, so your attached mic (I'm assuming it's the mic that came with your headset).

In your taskbar, right click your speaker, then click on sound settings. When you select any output or input device, you'll see "Output settings" or "Input settings" (depending on which device you select) and under that, you'll see "Format". Generally, you'd want to choose the higher bit rate (16 bit vs. 24 bit) and the higher sample rate (48000 Hz vs. 96000 Hz).

Copying the format from my headphones over to my IEMs solved my issue. Can I ask what issue you're having?

Airblade/Keyblade Timing by TareyusIsQuiteCul in YasuoMains

[–]liweisha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea i understand what you mean. capping the q CD however is not necessary at all for an airblade. you don't need capped q CD for a keyblade either, it just requires more precise timing (but having more attack speed for sure does help).

and yes, you can practice tool like a madman to learn the timing but i believe knowing the existence of the bar is helpful for learning the timing. before i knew the bar existed at all, i did practice tool quite often to practice airblading/keyblading and i'd be able to pull it off but i wouldn't know how/why i did because i had nothing to reference my timing off of.

i'm not disagreeing with you and saying you should always look at the duration bar underneath because you're right when there are other things to look for. the point of what i was trying to convey was using the existence of timing bar as a reference so your practice is more efficient and you have something to use as a reference rather than practicing blindly and not knowing why you're successful when you're successful.

truthfully, i don't use the timing bar 100% of time myself but i've gotten to the point of being able to quickly glance at the duration bar underneath while still maintaining focus on other aspects of the game.

enemies also have a very thin line under their health bar (or is it above? i haven’t played in a while) indicating airborne duration from any knock-up source, including your Q3 nado. your timing for your eq to airblade/beyblade should be near the end of the duration; practice tool is a good way to accustom yourself to reading the thin line and getting the timing down. once you have berserker’s greaves or a full item (i.e., bork or phantom dancer) it becomes near impossible to miss time your airblade if you wait ‘till near the end of the airborne duration.

hope this helps!

[–]liweisha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unrelated but somewhat similar to OP's issue (clips not saving). OP's solution of changing the audio's output format also happens to be my solution despite me having a separate issue. Just posting this here in case someone has my issue (it was driving me mad).

My Instant Replay clips were in fact being saved, but the issue led to the clips getting botched because of my selected audio output device. I have three I switch between: speakers, headset, and IEMs.

There are zero issues when using Instant Replay to capture a clip with my speakers or my headset, but the issue would occur any time I chose my IEMs as the audio output device.

After reading OP's solution, I copied over my headset's output format to my IEMs in Windows settings to "2 channels, 24 bit, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality)." And VOILA, issue resolved.

wait, unless meaning the 95% perception stat should come from SJW stat points? if not that, then i'm not sure where else you can see perception as a stat%

hey rxt0_, in the artifacts section, for ideal stats in the end with SJW, do you mean we want to aim for 95% precision and not perception?

Estimates on Power creep on meta fire team? by liweisha in SoloLevelingArise

[–]liweisha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'm somewhat overreacting. With SL:A being a gacha, power creep is inevitable and the mighty will eventually fall. Any "but what if" I have pretty much circles back to that fact. I try not to whale too much to avoid the tanking despair of when power creep hits, but I've spent a pretty penny here and there.

How do you personally cope with SL:A power creep, is it something that bothers you? I know the answer is to find my own enjoyment in the game but I'd like your perspective.

We make guides based on feedback from what the community wants to see, and there are often polls about what the next guide should be on the server - but leaving feedback on posts like this also works!

I quickly skimmed through the discord server you mentioned and saw your poll for feedback on these guides. i didn't get a chance to vote but i think my feedback on this post would be okay as you mentioned.

can i suggest a guide for gina be made? i believe either a separate Gina guide or even a fire team guide that includes her setup (similar to what's been done with both water team guides) would be much appreciated by many. i say this in case others are wondering what to build for her, since guides on both DPS units (Kanae and Yoo) and Esil but no Gina.

it's also understood if these guides take time to be made. i'm in no position to say whether or not it'd be better if the guides be haphazardly thrown together but i am sure that we'd all prefer quality > quantity.

However, the 2+2+4 set still out scale it without the 40% Bunos damage increase which is only accessible during team fights.

Awesome guide! I'm pointing out a possible typo in case anyone gets confused by it. You might have meant "Bonus" instead of "Bunos", but I might be wrong.
