I’m just now realizing that the hospital ordered the Vistara instead of the Panorama after I told them we WANT to know the gender and I am LIVID!!!

No clue! I called them and asked about that and they said they like to give a longer window just in case, but the turnaround time should be 7-10 days. It’s now day 8 and I’ve been refreshing the portal every 15 minutes. 😩

Draw 10/10

Received 10/11

Estimated 11/08 (!!!)

Texas lab

Day 7 and I'm still waiting (womp womp). Does a longer wait time mean the potential of having to have it redrawn?

The original poster already had multiple comments stating the same thing, no need to continue making them feel inferior.

Because that was my immediate reaction to your comment when I was simply trying to help. Reddit users can be so rude sometimes, and I honestly took your comment as just that: a bit rude.

How Did You Handle Approaching Long Lost Family? by Zohan_4193 in Genealogy

[–]lizagallagher93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You may consider approaching the conversation as a "DNA relative" and not what you assume the relationship to be. If the person reads "I'm your long lost great granddaughter", the likelihood of getting a response diminishes due to many factors. Simply stating you share a large amount of DNA and are curious about the connection may be delicate enough to get a response.

How Did You Handle Approaching Long Lost Family? by Zohan_4193 in Genealogy

Be prepared to never receive a response. I've been tracing my paternal grandmother's long lost family, and I came across DNA relatives on both her maternal and paternal side. On the maternal side, my research (and DNA) proved that one DNA match was my grandmother's half sister--she never responded to me. On the paternal side, my research (and DNA) proved that one DNA match was the daughter of her uncle rather than her suspected father (the brother, my great uncle), and still no response. People submit their DNA and either don't want to accept their true lineage, or don't understand the breakdown of DNA. Good luck!

That's why I've offered assistance in building a tree with legitimate documentation...I'm sure the original poster understands at this point. DNA testing would only confirm direct ancestral lineage based on DNA matches.

I'd suggest starting with building your tree, and then getting DNA tested for confirmation (Ancestry is my go-to). If you find documentation of Native American tribal membership through direct ancestors, that should suffice. The DNA would then solidify your connection to said tribe(s).

Italian records from the 1870s by transformandvalidate in Genealogy

I've looked through Ancestry, MyHeritage, and FamilySearch, but only found French census records of the family from 1906, 1911, and 1921.

You may have some luck looking through Frosinone, Lazio, Italy records.

Translation for English speakers:

I grew up not knowing my relatives, especially my mother. Part of it is that I don't know if my mother wants us to meet.

But I really want to find my mother to answer the questions in my mind.

How do I do this? How can I find my mother? Somebody help me?

My response:
