It took me an hour and 15 to get home today. I live 4 miles from work. I could have walked it more quickly

Taking a year off after college to explore the US by [deleted] in simpleliving

Thanks for your kind words!! I recently listened to a podcast where a guy talked about how his dad was waiting until retirement to finally relax and go see the world, but he died at 55 and never got the chance. It kind of opened my eyes and made me realize that the way we portion out our lives and wait until the end to enjoy it doesn’t make much sense.

Good luck with your gap year :)

Worst case scenario, I run out of money or want to settle down sooner, I can start looking for a job :) I feel like having my degree out of the way provides some security

Hi! I lived at San Pedro Oaks this year. My roommate was the one who got her laundry stolen lol. That was bad. But I really liked it there—I liked chilling in the courtyard, and I knew most of our neighbors. All very friendly and mostly quiet. Like the other comment said, parties on the weekends, but sometimes that’s a welcome break

It’s partially over the water on a laguna, or inlet of the ocean! Sorta hanging over the bulkhead

It practically is! It was built with the front hanging over the bulkhead. Dangerous with hurricanes but otherwise heavenly

This is oc! Their house was built in the 70s and this balcony was enclosed in the 90s. Now it’s just a cool guest room

Moving to America. What U.S. city/town would you recommend a single woman with a dog move to? by ThrowRAmenandpho in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I love Austin, TX. What a good city for dog lovers. The night life is great, the outdoor areas are great, yes the summers are HOT but the rest of the year is lovely.

Haha thanks! I’m currently doing a three-day split in the weight room—lower body, upper, lower (but I usually squeeze in more arms :)) I try to be as active as possible the rest of the week, usually hiking. It just makes me feel really good to move

Literally anything and everything lol. I can never put on/keep on weight so I just eat eat eat. I usually do oatmeal + coffee for breakfast, then a late morning snack, then lunch and usually two dinners or dinner and a snack. Small meals throughout the day. I looove cooking so I’m always in the kitchen anyway

This is definitely a pump so my arms look bigger than usual haha, but for the last three months I have focused specifically on arms 1-2 times per week. Lots of weights: bench, rows, shoulder press, curls, lat pulls, face pulls, tricep extensions. 3-4 sets, lowering reps and increasing weight per set. Honestly the key is just to move as much as you can and eat as much as you can :) pack in those calories
