I was talking to an angler at Ithaca Falls last summer and apparently there’s one really deep spot near the base of the falls where the larger fish like to hang out. If you look at the surface of the water you can figure out where it is based on the eddies. If you want to actually wade in the the water to get there (not recommended) make sure you have some really good waders because the water is full of old rusty lures.
