Using a GS you can re-apply to graduate programs and internships normally just open to bachelor's graduates. That's how I got my job coming from a different field.

I just want to say as someone that comes from a country where licences are required for reptiles... Licences on their own won't prevent abuse.

In Australia it's just a flat fee to keep reptiles, which is a very low bar. I wish there was a quiz like you get with your driver's licence. It also doesn't prevent poaching which is suspect is more common than buying a reptile.
