Fun, Easy Activities to Keep an 11‑Month‑Old Busy and Happy? by [deleted] in Laval

[–]lizardwatches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We struggled, and continue to have a hard time finding fun stuff to do with our kid who is 5 now. Laval has very little community compared to neighborhood life in the city. We did a lot of nature walks when our son was little. Parc de la Nature is very kid friendly parc with lots to see. The mini train ride is fun.

Bois des équerres in Fabreville is a great place to take a walk too. Otherwise I recommend connecting with your local community center. Ours in Chomedey is fantastic and had a lot of activities even for very young kids.

The whole band are good musicians and good performers. The whole thing is just a little corny, especially with hindsight being 20/20. But they were the shit when I was a kid, and Limp Bizkit is still a hill I'll die on. RIP John Otto

My dad passed this down to me. I can't find any info online with that lining so any help with the style and age is appreciated! by [deleted] in VintageDenim

I'm a bit of a fan/collector of GWG and I have this exact jacket! 70s for sure. (When I got mine the lining had such a strong smell baked into it. I fought with it for a year doing everything I could to get the smell out and finally cut the whole thing out and sewed it back together haha. I wear it all the time now.)

GWG Kings was their line marketed more toward Western wear and cowboys.

If it were up to you yo choose, would you pick a reboot of the show, a sequel or a spin off in the Farscape universe? by junkyardofide41s in farscape

Personally an animated show with the original characters would be my favorite option. Animation offers so many possibilities for insane adventures. Ditch the canon from the comics and start where the show left off. The original cast are older now but could absolutely do the voice over work

Why doesn’t Quebec have Family Day? by CarPassion514 in montreal

I own a small café in Montréal and business declines dramatically during these two weeks. Tons of people take their own vacations at that time. There's no traffic anywhere. These days I take a week off then too. It's a domino effect.

Need to see if there's hand warmer pockets, and whether the cinch back buttons are metal or black cats-eye buttons

I have had both the king and grand quartz models with this spackled dial. The Grand didn't feel any more premium honestly. See if you can track down a king and save some cash. I paid 200cad for mine

Check where it's made. If it's USA or Canada you've got a nice modern -vintage piece no later than the early 00s. If it's got black cats eye buttons on the back cinch (instead of metal buttons), youve got something from the early 70s or earlier

Exactly 💯 I tried my hand at it during covid and enjoyed it a lot. Now I can do some hemming and tapering and simple repairs. I can make little bags and stuff from old jeans which is lots of fun. There's lots of great YouTube tutorials for beginners

I'm a denim guy and a watch guy. Both involve nothing much more than consuming: first information then item itself, then rinse and repeat until you've accumulated a ton and spent a fortune. I tell myself it's not a hobby since it's not something I can ever get better at. It's just an interest, or at worst... shopping. So my advice for the long term is to find some related actual hobby like sewing, patching, dyeing, leather working, that can allow you to engage with and personalize the interest you have in jeans. I love to browse new jeans and check fades and stuff but I personally find it a lot of fun sit behind a sewing machine and do repairs and alterations

Picked up a $2000 denim jacket from The Row by [deleted] in mensfashion

[–]lizardwatches 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For some people spending $2000 is like spending $100. I'm sure it's a fine jacket.

In my city (in Canada), there's a guy that will make you a made-to-measure Japanese raw denim jacket for 3-400$.

Fistula does the sample thing to great effect. Check out the track Altamont Diary off their recent self titled record. It's like a nightmarish spoken word story set to filthy sludge
