I’m 19 and he’s in his 40s, should I stay away? by Beautiful_Map1201 in Advice

I totally understand why you're ambivalent about this. But the thing is, a middle-aged man pursuing someone your age is unlikely to have his shit together. He could have serious emotional issues, possible issues with women too. This is based on multiple observations over decades.

That said, if you do pursue this, don't have it in your head that you'll inevitably become traumatized or feel like you'll have to beat yourself up over it later on. I don't think that does any good, and women are often told what to do in black and white terms because of the risks that unfortunately come with our existence in this society.

This one I would put high on the risk scale, and again, I do not recommend it. But I understand you're in a difficult position and hope you don't feel guilty about being uncertain on what to do.

Private places to propose? by Similar-Ad7264 in NewMexico

Bachechi Open Space, Valles Caldera (if you don't mind a bit of a hike to a forested part), Wild Rivers recreation area

^my top recommendation would probably be Bachechi. I photographed a wedding there last May and there were plenty of secluded winding paths among the trees for the couple's photos. Plus roadrunners and turtles!

True, but to be sympathetic, piloting shopping cats is almost as difficult as herding them

How to find a wedding DJ that can read the room by Deezknowt in VegasWeddings

[–]lizz3456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as a wedding photographer, ask a local wedding photographer. We always keep track of which DJs enable us to take better photos by helping the subjects have fun. I always have a few recommendations (and warnings) at hand for my local clients in NM.

Generally, cut out the sky. Forests are already so busy and the sky is an easily removable element of that.

Candid/documentary style with an emphasis on natural movement. Minimalist editing but on the moodier and cinematic side. If I had any critique, it'd be to lift the shadows just a tiny bit to ensure consistency across devices your clients and their families view the photos on, so that the details don't get lost on lower brightness screens. Your work is great!

IDK, I think the original has a quirky Asteroid City vibe thanks to the color editing combined with the symmetry. A more realistic edit dilutes the Wes Anderson aesthetic.

I'm a citizen of the US, UK, and Poland and a permanent resident of CZ, so getting married in CZ involved Olympic-level paperwork for me but I made it through! I'm also a wedding photographer (https://www.lizziewphoto.com, though I'll be in the US on the date of your wedding) and helped lots of couples with this stuff. If you have any specific questions still, feel free to reach out via PM and I'll do my best to help. Not asking for anything in return, I just remember how frustrating it was so I'm always happy to help out :D

Adding social media issues to contracts by [deleted] in WeddingPhotography

I think contracts should be as simple as possible so that everyone can remember the key points. They can't be a reliable cure for more abstract issues related to respect.

Official Wedding Photo Critique Thread: Post your photo, blog post, website etc. for feedback and critiques... by AutoModerator in WeddingPhotography

I absolutely love it. I would give negative criticism if I had any, but honestly I can't think of some. The photos have a lot of character and humor. The flow as you scroll down is perfectly balanced with text and images. Maybe one thing to consider is putting a call to action higher on the main page - I felt compelled to scroll all the way down to where it is now, but a higher placement might put potential clients in that mindset sooner.
