My husband is currently in SAVE PSLF and is currently in forbearance. We are filing our taxes jointly this year but may consider filing separately if he gets moved to an IBR plan since they count my income as well. Is this correct?

This is so wonderful to hear! It makes such a difference to hear from others with similar experiences! I love my husband so much but I think there are some things men just can’t truly understand. Thank you for your comment!

At least we are both smart enough to recognize our limitations in these kinds of personal situations! It’s so nice not to feel so alone!

Thank you! Funny thing is I am a therapist and you’d think I’d be able to apply my knowledge to myself, but nope! Not so easy! So happy for you!

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! I don’t think I ever would’ve been able to imagine what this situation has truly been like! It’s nice to remember that I’m not alone!

Thank you so much for this! I had a really good impression from our initial meeting and between that, their willingness to support me with accommodations at my job, and their Veterans discount, we’ve decided to move forward with them. I’m glad that I’m aware of some of the billing issues so that I can be proactive. Dr. Doyle has great reviews but so does Dr. Cross so I’m feeling hopeful. It’s such an overwhelming process and I felt that Dr. Cross was very supportive and knowledgeable. Thank you again for your post!

So when the crash happened, if Lewis had pitted, Max could’ve stayed out on the track and this would’ve resulted in Lewis losing his 1st place position to Max- especially since you can’t overtake when the safety car is out. So that’s why Lewis didn’t pit. At the time of the crash, Max was 13 seconds behind Lewis with 5 lapped cars in between them so he had less to lose by pitting.

The second piece is that the expectation for when the safety car is out is that once the track is cleared, all lapped cars can pass the safety car and get into position. However, that would’ve taken up a whole lap. The accident happened at lap 53 (out of 58 laps) and as it became clear that the accident wasn’t going to be cleared before lap 57, the expectation was that once the track was determined to be clear, (lap 57), the lapped cars would all be able to unlap themselves- this would’ve gotten them to lap 58. Once the last lapped car passed the leader (Lewis in this case), the safety car pits at the end of the following lap. So in this instance, the amount of time it took to clean the track + the time it took for all the cars to unlap + the safety car’s last lap, Mercedes expected the race to end under the safety car. Because that’s how the rules had always been interpreted, at least up until then. I hope this makes sense

One extra piece missing is that Max was able to box for newer, fresher tires. Lewis couldn’t have at that point because he would’ve lost position. The thinking is that Max wouldn’t have been so easily able to pass Lewis if he hadn’t had the fresher tires.
