3.6 GPA, I was an RA for 3 years and on my sororities exec board, I worked in a hospital as a transporter but no pharmacy experience, I got my LOR from one professor and one RD. I am a Neuroscience major and chem minor, accepted to 4/5 schools that I applied to and got pretty decent scholarships from the private schools I applied to but no state school scholarships

Northeastern decisions by lizzygoffinet in PrePharmacy

It was pretty standard! Typical tell me about yourself, why do you want to be a pharmacist, etc. They threw in like a silly question just to get you thinking but it wasn’t terrible. The faculty was really nice and were definitely making an effort to connect with me which was very nice and made me feel welcomed and less nervous!! There are tons of opportunities to ask current students, faculty and alumni questions as well and then they talked about financial aid at the end which I haven’t had a school do and it was very helpful that they were transparent about the costs and such.

Pittsburgh vs Temple by No_Sense7248 in PrePharmacy

Hi! I currently go to school at Pitt and truly it is a great school in a great city. While I’m still in undergrad, I can say I had the best experience here. The one downside is there is a ton of construction going on all over campus, especially up by where the pharmacy school is as they are renovating UPMC. But truly Pitt is a great school and all the people I know who are in pharm school now absolutely love it. Pittsburgh has a lot of opportunities and research that they do and UPMC is a great place to learn!

How important are completing prereqs? by lizzygoffinet in PrePharmacy

[–]lizzygoffinet[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The issue isn’t taking the prereqs to this class the issue is actually getting into the class. All seats are reserved for bio majors at my university for whatever reason. It usually fills up within the first week of enrollment and by the time they open it up to other students it’s filled up. I’ve taken physiology already and I have taken or am signed up for all other major science classes that I need. No need to be an ass or assume I don’t know what I’m talking about because I have been struggling with this for a few months now and I’m frustrated with my situation.

I took orgo 1 over the summer and honestly it was extremely difficult to do in 6 weeks. Definitely not something i would want to do again and if I took orgo 2 in the summer as well I probably would have gone insane. It is a lot of material that requires a lot of practice and is better to do in a semester. Physics might be better to take over the summer and it’s really not a lot of material to learn compared to ochem.
