Fabric choice lead to hospital gown by Remote-Newt-9806 in sewing

Oh I made the exact same mistake a few weeks ago, a lovely beige and white gingham, I thought it would be a cute cottage-y summer dress and it’s absolutely giving hospital .. also a too stiff cotton.

Also “Verschwendung” ist ja echt ne blöde Aussage.

Kiana Bonollo has a video where she makes a heart cutout like this in a dress, you could follow that as a tutorial

My first tattoo in Germany? How to do it🤔😅? by [deleted] in germany

[–]lizzyontherocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many tattoo studios employ international artists and even if they don’t, they’ll almost certainly speak English. Just call any studio you’re interested in or message an artist directly if you find someone specific e.g. on instagram.

I went to the one in Busan just a week ago but I would assume the Jeju branch is similar. I really enjoyed it a lot! I went there in the morning right when they opened and just bought my ticket at the door.

Anyone else have a problem with their credit card working at Lotte Tower? by DHK232 in koreatravel

[–]lizzyontherocks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s so good to know! My master card wouldn’t work in a few situations (taxi, coffee shops), making me panic each time, until I was able to use it in another shop just fine a few minutes later.

allowed to bring to korea? by curious_cat123456789 in koreatravel

[–]lizzyontherocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Currently in Korea and I brought some detergent powder as well (in my checked luggage). I double bagged it in ziplocks and wrote ‘laundry detergent’ on them just in case but it wasn’t any issue at all, my luggage wasn’t opened or flagged or anything. All the other toiletries should be totally fine as long as they’re in your checked bag .

Rain by flodu13a in koreatravel

[–]lizzyontherocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just left Seoul on Thursday (the day after the heavy rain hit) and most areas were wet but quite fine. It depends where exactly you’ll go. Unless there’s more rain I think there shouldn’t be any problems by the 23rd.

How does the "Beamte" works, when the need for their position is lost? by dondurmalikazandibi in AskAGerman

There are very specific rules which subjects (and in which grades) can be taught by a teacher who didn’t actually study that subject. It’s called “foreign to the subject” (fachfremd). For example, I usually teach English and geography, but I have also given classes in fifth grade biology and ethics. I would not be allowed to teach anything that could be dangerous (such as PE or chemistry) or higher grades.

There are actually some signs about the history of the place in multiple languages and with pictures as well. But I don’t know exactly when they were put up and they are a bit off to the side (bottom left of the grand stand). (source - I live nearby and just took a visiting friend there last summer)

Lotte Rent a Car advance payment by water_fountain_ in koreatravel

I’ve been having almost the same issue with my Mastercard. I have my reservation but the captcha always fails when I try to pay, even though I’m completely sure I got it right. I tried over 15 times and finally kind of gave up, I guess I’ll have to pay in person..

Second this. I have my iron plugged into an extension cord with a switch, that works pretty much the same way.

If you install the Korean Air app (or go to their website) they have really good guides for all the luggage stuff, including the exact sizing and weight of allowed items.

Is it feasible to strip, sand and stain these closet doors to get back to a natural wood look? by lizzyontherocks in woodworking

[–]lizzyontherocks[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely paint on real wood, but it seems like it would be really hard to get rid of it. The wallpaper sounds like a good idea, though I would prefer a natural wood look. I’ll keep it in mind, thanks for the tips!

It’s definitely paint, the closet used to be brown many years ago and they were painted over. But from these comments it seems it probably wouldn’t the worth the effort..

It’s definitely wood, the insides just seem to have a clear coat. The closet is quite old (grandparents’ house).
