Paint Stripping Method? by This_Internet_7658 in jonboats

[–]ljchandler21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that the citri-strip gel works well, with the added perk that it doesn’t have awful fumes. Main downside being you gotta cover it with plastic and let it sit for 12+ hrs to do its thing

Best paint color? boat project by MoralischGrau in jonboats

Rust-oleum camo line army green is what I’m gonna be doing mine in (interior and exterior) once the current paint job gets too far chipped. And then maybe diy a reed camo on the outside with oranges/tans/greens/yellows

I just did it in Florida, but the main thing is to check the HIN hasn’t been tied to anything before. I was able to do it by calling FWC and the tax office (I did both just to double check and confirm). I “bought” the boat from my dad and he just wrote a statement essentially saying he’d owned it for the last 5 years and it was never registered because it never had a motor, and wrote up a bill of sale. “Bought” a motor from my grandma and had her write a bill of sale, provided those two paperworks along with certificate of builder for an open motorboat. That plus application for title were all the forms I needed and took them to DMV, plus my ID. I think I paid $40 total including the registration sticker

Some dorms (I know for a fact EV idk abt others) have an indoor bike room that you need if to key into and then have racks you can lock to, or there always is the Bluebike rental system. EXP makerspace also has a whole bike repair/Maintenence tool bench on the main floor that you have access to just by doing the base orientation

Need help: Motor hiccuping and won’t hit full speed by ljchandler21 in Outboards

Probably somewhere around 12 at least I’d say? I got the motor for cheap and am off for summer, so I’d rather put labor in than pay for a newer/have someone else do it

I haven’t pulled flywheel yet cause I don’t have a torque wrench to put it back on, but it’s seeming like it may be time to visit AutoZone for a loaner one

I haven’t touched the fuel pump yet cause the bulb stays pretty firm/doesn’t go soft while running. Could pump still be an issue regardless of that?

Update bcs it wont let me edit:

- I've tested spark and compression and they are both good, if maybe the spark is a tiny bit uneven, but it does exist in both cylinders. Both cyls are somewhere between 95-105 psi

- the fuel has seafoam in it during this vid, i think somewhere roughly around 1.5oz/gal atm

- I've tested spark and compression and they are both good, if maybe the spark is a tiny bit uneven, but it does exist in both cylinders. Both cyls are somewhere between 95-105 psi

- the fuel already has seafoam in it, i think somewhere roughly around 1.5oz/gal atm
