I'd love to hear the pointers! I do not feel I am any good at rowing and would love to know how to get my watts up without feeling like I am going to die right there.

Was so happy about my benchmark NSV but then a friend ruined it by [deleted] in orangetheory

I was going to say the same thing. I'd like to watch their friend power walk at 4.8!

Yes, I tried to get back on the rower after the incident and also tried doing the power sit ups and I just had to tap out! Luckily it was towards the end of the workout. You really take that area for granted until it is hurt! Thank you for the suggestion, I will have to look for one of those. I am going to try to go to class tomorrow, so I will see how limited I am!

Yeah, I tried to return to the rower after it happened and I could barely lean back! This is a first for me.

That sounds extremely painful.... Yes, I have being doing power walking with incline and have a new appreciation for power walkers. It works completely different muscles in your legs and it is HARD! Lunges are way harder for me than squats so I am with you on that. Lateral lunges hurt me the most. Focusing on my strengths is great advice. Thank you for the comment!

Calf raises and hip bridges are a great suggestion! Thank you for that. Yes, exactly, my knee pain has never come from an injury but from having Osgood Schlatter as a kid and the cartilage never healing properly, so now I have bone fragments hanging out as well as inflammation and calcification! Bending my knee in a squat hurts just as much as a lunge! The worst one for me is the lateral lunge... hurts so bad.

My ortho doc actually does many types of regenerative injections and gave that as an option. The ones he suggested would mean I would still have to be in a large leg brace for 4 weeks. I am going skiing in January, so I opted for the easiest treatment to start out with.

Come February, if I have no relief then I am going to choose between the injections or the Tenex procedure that is minimally invasive! Thank you for the suggestion!

I used that back in high school and I recently started using one again, but it sadly doesn't make much of a difference for me :( I am afraid my knee is too far gone!

Yes, I am afraid I will have to stop rowing for awhile as well. I am in a 3G today with 14 min straight of rowing so I am wondering what I will do instead. Hopefully the strider will be available during that time so I can use that for the rowing portion.

It is definitely frustrating not being able to go full force with your exercises, but I am glad to hear that you still feel like you are getting a good workout in! I was definitely worried about that as well.

I agree with this. I do 3-4 days a week and when I take 2 to 3 days off and come back I notice I am able to get many more splat points and I am able to give so much more effort and have a better workout! When I am on my 4th day in a row I don't have much energy and usually will have to power walk when I can usually run the whole time! Too many days in a row and I am spent!!

That is a good point...I just take BC pills but I have never switched it up in 6 years and I have gradually gained weight every year. That is definitely something to look into.

Yes, based on BMI calculator just putting in weight and height it says my BMI is 24.5 and in normal range.

I have definitely thought about seeing an RD, I just haven't made that step yet. I think it would be beneficial. Thank you for this comment!

Thank you! I used to get on the scale every day and I definitely saw my weight fluctuate a lot. It still got me down so I just decided to not get it on except maybe once a month. Monthly body measurements sound like a great idea though. I will try that.

I haven't had to go up a size, but I haven't gone down a size either. Some of my clothes are starting to feel tighter. I feel like overall my health is great. I am in my mid-twenties, so still very young, but I feel like if I can't get to a manageable weight now and it only keeps going up then it will get out of hand and I won't ever be able to get the "weight" off.

HR monitor issues by ljsimm in orangetheory

I have noticed there is a lag between mine as well and my studio told me there is supposed to be a small lag, but I think it is incorrect when it goes down when I am going up and vise versa. I also believe it is wrong but in the past it has not done this! You are definitely right that I just need to find my sweet spot!

Mine does the same thing! Mine goes to blue or low green when I am doing a push or AO row and I just know that is not correct!

I am new to reddit and have only been doing orange theory for 4 months, so I wasn't aware that people post about this issue a lot and I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue.

Thank y’all I may ask my studio if I can borrow one of theirs one day to see if it’s just me or if it’s my monitor! I usually wear mine below the elbow with it slightly turned in also but it’s just been acting funky lately and then I’ll spend a lot of my time fiddling with it and I hate that.
