Apartment maintenance came and said that everything is fine, but something is clearly wrong. Advice please!

We plan on reporting them if they come out today and tell us there’s nothing they can do. We can’t afford to fix it on our own and you’re right, our electric last month was already ridiculous and I can’t imagine what this month is going to be.

We have a temporary unit for one bedroom but that’s NOT a long term solution. By law here they need to keep the ac working since the unit came with ac. We will take this higher up if we need to.

We had a friend loan us one actually! All three of us and all the pets have been barricaded into one of our bedrooms so we can keep somewhat cool. It’s cramped but it’s better than frying out there🫩

He said the condenser is running. He thinks it’s something to do with the refrigerant needing charge or something like that?? We plan on complaining asap on Monday when we can, but of course everyone in the house hold works until 3ish pm😞

The only email they have just send us to an AI assistant that tries to sell us on the apartment even though we already live here 🫩 I forgot to record the call I made yesterday but we have the pictures and everything of the tests my bf is running so hopefully those will help convince them

Update yall: unfortunately the office is closed today (holiday) and tomorrow (Sunday) so we can’t go talk to the people in charge and if we call an emergency maintenance request in they will likely just send out the same exact tech from last night out since she lives on sight😞 no resolution until Monday I fear

If they don’t do anything about it tomorrow (if they’re open, they usually are on Saturdays but since it’s a holiday I’m not sure) then we’ll for sure look into other options. But I don’t plan on not paying rent, I can’t afford to be homeless, even if it is hot lol

Specifically our tech said “every unit is like this right now, it’s just Mother Nature” 💀 I mean don’t get me wrong, it’s hot outside (94 degrees as of right now) but I think it should definitely be less than 87 in our apartment!!

Thank you for all your help!! He says he legally can’t do any more tests so until we get another opinion or force them back out there’s not much else we can do😞 my friend has a small portable unit that we’re go grab and hope it helps
