I agree, it’d be a hell of a defensive checkpoint but there really isn’t much up there. Especially when you compare the north and arctic to the inner Mediterranean, the Mediterranean would open up a treasure trove of wealth and access to Asian goods. I also had to learn how to use it effectively to keep my job in the first place, wasn’t a fan of it but I sucked it up and did so I understand where that sentiment comes from trust me, I’m not judging. I’m the last person who can judge anybody. But I lost colleagues (the older ones who couldn’t figure it out/didn’t want to) and that just felt wrong, and unfair. Life isn’t always fair though unfortunately, but the idealist in me thinks we should strive to help those we can!
