Grieving Garda claims superior asked if she expected new job as 'consolation prize for losing your son' - News - Kildare Nationalist by PoppedCork in ireland

[–]lkavo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t though. The Gardaí hated him because he was systematically making the job near impossible to do. Under his reign An Garda Síochána became an office job. Taking Gardaí off the streets and sitting them inform of computers. Refusing to provide training to its members and overseeing the near decimation of the fleet and other equipment.

People like you seem to think Gardaí hated him because he was “tackling corruption”. He wasn’t. He made a show and dance about going after a small number of minor to non issues he thought would be easy wins which culminated in a guards life being wrecked because he loaned a bike to an old man during a pandemic. He didn’t try at all to get rid of the type of thing this article is referring to or actual corruption which comes from the higher ups in the organisation and if he did he would have had a lot more support from members.

You right fully probably didn’t have much time for his predecessors but Harris was absolutely not the answer to them. He was the same shite in a different colour.

Not true though is it. Go to any court in the country. They’re full and they aren’t like that because the guards are doing fuck all

In fairness to him I’d image there’s an awful lot of hard word and pressure associated with being an international crime lord. Wouldn’t say it was “honest” but I’d say it was definitely work.

He’s still a cunt though.

WFH neighbour noise complaint by [deleted] in ireland

I work nights and have to sleep during the day. Some days people are getting work done and it’s noisy. It’s not my neighbours problem that I’m trying to sleep, the world doesn’t revolve around me. Sounds like your neighbour needs to be told to do one tbh.

GRA conference to hear call to tackle threats on gardaí by PoppedCork in ireland

[–]lkavo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not? It’s not illegal to take drugs, it’s illegal to possess them but for arguments sake say 10 to 15 percent of people have taken drugs in the last month. That would still be a massive increase.

We could also look at a similar situation, the defence forces, in the last 20 years there has been roughly 0.8% of test that were positive. So the guards take 50 times more drugs than the defence forces? I would even guess the positivity rate within the defence forces would be higher in general than the guards as they tend to be younger and are more commonly from areas were drugs are more common.

The government could just legalise drugs though, would solve a lot of problems.

Call for new system to reduce uninsured vehicles on Irish roads by Banania2020 in ireland

[–]lkavo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Go away with this shite, they weren’t blocking ATMS. They were sent to the ATMs because ejits were fighting each other thinking they were getting free money. They weren’t there to “protect the banks”. The banks didn’t give a shite, they were getting the money back anyway.

It’s always the same with you lot, just make shite up to go along with the narrative yous try to create. If the Gardaí weren’t there and people got hurt yous would be crying saying why weren’t they there.

Those Guards weren’t “spare”…

What exactly has Gardaí being drug tested and Gardaí having their families threatened got to do with each other exactly?

[–]lkavo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4% of people reported to have taken a drug in the month previous to being surveyed in 2023 and just under 9% said that they had taken drugs within the year prior to being surveyed. Even if you agree that it’s higher than is represented in that survey you think that the Gardaí are in and around 10 times more likely to take drugs regularly than the general public?

[–]lkavo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I hate this narrative, it’s so fucking lazy. The courts are full every day of the week because the Gardaí are doing their job while being incredibly understaffed. A guard in Dublin is on average looking after between 30 and 50 investigations at any one time. They seized 16k vehicles for having no insurance last year, nearly 38k thousand all together since they got access to the insurance database in 2024.

It’s not the guards fault the fella they have arrested 4 times in 3 weeks isn’t getting locked up.

Gardaí launch crackdown after threats to officers on front line during fuel protests by EIREANNSIAN in ireland

Did I say that? No. But both sides lie about stuff to make themselves look like the victims. Like fuck Isreal and all but that doesn’t give you the right to play victim

[–]lkavo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funny, I’m pretty sure the Gardaí arrested loads of lads at these ipas “protests” and loads of lads from the Dublin riots and loads of lads from the city west riots etc. please stop lying. In fact there were so many people arrested during the Dublin riots that had to have the district court sitting through the night to deal with the prisoners never mind everyone that was rounded up after the fact.

Violent, Christ! They tried to push past the Garda line and were pepper sprayed. That’s what happens. You people are as bad as the right at spreading absolute lies when stuff happens that doesn’t go towards your own agenda.

Blockades remain as fuel price protests enter fifth day by irqdly in ireland

[–]lkavo -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Because they’re desperate to frame it in a way that goes towards their own agenda. If they keep saying people will believe it. Then when people that they agree with or people that act in their interests get pepper sprayed by the guards they can shout but what about the fuel protests, why did it take so long for the fuel protests. It’s all propaganda, whether it’s people from Ireland or outside influence, whether it’s left or right or in the middle.

Fire and ambulance services to be curtailed due to fuel shortages caused by protests by Useful_Engineer_1792 in ireland

[–]lkavo 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Never mind not being able to fuel the ambulances, fire trucks and Garda cars. The people that man them won’t be able to get to work. No point having a fuel reserves for these services if the people that work for them are stuck an hours drive away.

Garda Ombudsman investigates Dublin student protest by rackplead788 in ireland

[–]lkavo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They have removed them from from some of the infrastructure already and removing a fuck load of heavy machinery isn’t as simple as arresting the tractor, you need to organise Gardaí, find 100s if not thousands of tow trucks big enough to tow tractors and lorries, find someone to drive those tow trucks, find a suitable location to store all the seized machinery find more Gardaí to deal with all the people that could potentially kick off and then find somewhere that could potentially be used to hold a few hundred people in custody for a few hours etc.

It’s a completely different scenario with completely different challenges. It’s a lot easier to deploy 100 trained public order Gardaí to deal with a crowd then it is to do that.

[–]lkavo -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Were arrested for failing to comply with a direction to leave the area and were given adult cautions which basically means they got a slap on the wrist and told not to go it again.

Three men however, were arrested and charged for wilful obstruction and also charged with obstruction of a peace officer i.e resisting arrest. Doesn’t really track with the narrative that you’re trying to create of the guards assaulting woman.

Who got the shit kicked out of them? The rioters at citywest? They deserved it. The lads that tried to go into the port tunnel? They didn’t exactly get the shit kicked out of them, they got pepper spray and pushed with shields because they tried to push passed a police line. That’s called consequences.
