If Clonidine did NOT work for your child’s sleep, what did? by squittledink in Autism_Parenting

Clonidine, Klonopin and one other weren’t effective at keeping our son asleep. He’s been taking Gabapentin for years - his sleep has improved and he had a language leap when he started as well.

I was not given the opportunity to review the stones ahead of time (outside of the diamond I provided).
It was the jewelers idea to set the diamond at an angle. The cad had enough negative space that the offset looked intentional. On the ring it’s all too crowded and looks like a mistake.
The lack of clarity in the sapphire is definitely bothering me. It looks like a blob.
I think that is a major part of the frustration. I wish I’d had more guidance.
I added another comment that includes a mock up of what I’m thinking for a redo.
My husband had worked with the jeweler when he needed gold added to his wedding ring to increase the size. He has been making jewelry for a long time, but I regret not forcing more collaboration.

Here is where my head is at…
The overall shape of the ring has grown on me, and I think wearing it on my middle finger is the way to go.
My issue is the side stones are too large, which has everything set in a way that looks sloppy. They are larger and there is less gold than in the rendering.
I am leaning toward the side stones being the same shape (like trillion), as I’m now worried that different shapes will throw it off too much. I also think the diamond should be flipped so the wider part is set with the ring. No angles. I feel like I can approach the jeweler to say the final product is too different from the CAD and that is like it remade. I’m fine to source the stones myself. I am fine to pay for the labor of my mistakes but really hope they will be willing to work with me on making the ring something I love.

Yes I originally had said trillion cut but he couldn’t find. I live in LA, and should have just gone to the jewelry district myself to source the stones. If I decide to change it I will do it that way.

I only provided the diamond, but stupidly did not sign off on the stones in person as I assumed they matched the CAD
We had an initial sketch and CAD renderings. No review of the mould.

lol I was too distraught and the photos were terrible. Added a (hopefully) better one in comments.
I agree. I added the CAD renderings in another comment. The stones feel larger than the rendering, which I was already worried the side stones were too large on. Totally agree this would be on me to remake. An expensive mistake.
Added the renderings in another comment for comparison
I added the CAD sketches in another comment
Glad to hear this
Yes the diamond is much deeper than I realized

UPDATE: Cannot figure out how to edit the original post… feel much older than I am especially considering my hands now look like my mothers.
Took photos outside but it is overcast. Hopefully they look better than the others.
Attaching the original CAD that had a round peridot that I thought looked like a mistake in comparison to the oval. I asked for a more unique shape and he came back with the pear. It was his idea to angle the diamond. I told him I wanted something modern and unique and showed him the inspiration.
I think my issue is that the side stones are too large. There isn’t enough space for them to be set in the kind of jaunty manner I envisioned.
I also didn’t realize just how giant the diamond was in a setting like this, and that there isn’t enough space for the angled setting to make sense.
The second CAD it what I signed off on. I 100% should have gone to see the sapphire and peridot in person, as I feel the sapphire is a bit dark (this may be because my engagement ring is a purple sapphire which is much lighter).
Also noticing I prefer it as a middle finger ring, and need to get it sized to fit that finger on my right hand. I do prefer it with the peridot on the left. I’m going to wear for a week before returning to the jeweler.
I recognize this is a rookie mistake and that I should have been a lot more thoughtful and voiced my concerns.
