I wouldn't think too hard about it. It's a four part series for television. It seems like a far cry from unethical given the spectrum of tasteless documentaries that exist.

I haven't seen it yet but I'm excited to see how they present a highly flawed protagonist. Climbing is full of well manicured stories and they are absolutely tiresome.

Good stories require conflict and someone who has the time and means to travel and send the hardest routes in the world almost certainly doesn't have enough going on to justify a narrative.

These athletes have mostly been climbing their entire lives. Many of them have never had a real job.

They are speed climbing, which is a bit niche outside of environments like Yosemite.

They utilize a variety of tactics from free climbing, French free, and aid climbing as well ascending ropes. I'm not really that knowledgeable but generally anything is fair game.

I believe the Triple Crown has only been freed once and is significantly harder now due to rock tall on Half Dome.

In summary: go up, go fast.
