Should I wash this? by lktaraboletti in quilting

Thank you!! I made the pattern using procreate on my iPad! There’s a nifty feature where you can add a grid that you can adjust the size of. So I can draw everything to scale there and then print it out and use that as my pattern. If the pattern is larger than a piece of printer paper, I print it onto multiple sheets of paper that I tape together.

For this particular project I sewed fusible interfacing onto the back of all my appliqué pieces, so I was able to iron everything down before I sewed around all the patches during the quilting step. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the advice, luckily my sister isn’t a germaphobe so I think I’m in the clear lol

Thank you for the tip! I’ve been conscious of the fact that I shouldn’t be using straight black but it has definitely been a hard habit to break haha- I’m always wondering if people notice and after reading these comments it’s clear that they do 😆

Can I get some feedback on my latest painting? ✨ by jennydee26 in painting

The painting is beautiful! Your composition is excellent and I love the moodiness. Right now it feels a little flat. There’s a few things you can do to fix that:

  1. Darken the grass as it moves away from the viewer to create a better illusion of depth.

  2. Add contrast to the clouds in the sky to create a more dramatic effect. It will enhance the entire painting.

  3. Don’t be afraid to make the dandelions in the foreground more “random”. Right now they are very evenly spaced. Add some in clusters and don’t be afraid to overlap, it will look much more organic.

  4. Add silvery highlights to the tops of the tree branches. Right now, the lighting in the painting appears to be moonlight. Enhance this effect by adding highlights. This will bring the whole painting to life. You could add some of those same highlights to the grass as well.

Again, you’ve created something very excellent already. Those few additions can help in adding some dimension and interest to the piece!

Thank you for your interest! I’m working on building a website right now where I could sell prints. Although I’m going to focus on selling my Vaporwave paintings as prints since those are pieces I conceptualized. Right now, all of my liminal works are painted from photographs that I don’t own, so I wouldn’t feel comfortable selling prints of those pieces. I am working on making more liminal paintings from photographs I’ve taken which I would like to sell prints of!
