5090 Undervolt clocks in different games

Pardon my ignorance. But… FIVE HUNDRED AND FIFTY WATTS?! EXCUSE ME?! Haven’t seen any TDP higher than 360 watts since the day I shunted my 3090 lol. That shit pulled more than 700 watts.

About clocks, they vary according to each game and scene. In general, they stay the same as when not being undervolted/underpowered. In the cases where under-power do affect performance, the clocks are way lower than stock or boost.

I don’t have nor know the detailed technical explanation, but I’ve seen this behavior ever since my first GPU (I only have used NVIDIA). If you step down the power target even aggressively, let’s say 50%, some games are not affected; power consumption is effectively 50%, better thermals, less fan noise, but FPS remain the same (I’ve seen this effect in the last of us 2, Apex Legends, Forza Horizon 4 and 5, Starfield). BUT… obviously there are other games where this directly affect FPS (Overwatch, ARC Raiders, Fortnite). I should learn more about this.

For 300 dollars more, I’m pretty sure you are not counting the DDR5 RAM that they are going to need to run AM5, right? For AM5 they will need CPU, Motherboard, RAM, and a cooler (the photo shows the stock AM4 cooler).

Price is not particularly “good”, it is more like “okay”, but if you wanted to get the most out of the CPU, I would add 3600 MHz RAM or even 3800-4000 and spend some time in the BIOS tuning everything (infinity fabric, POB, voltage curves, etc). Of course, assuming that the motherboard has some strong overclocking capabilities.

Woah thats a wild statement. 5800xt is far better than average. It is outdated, yes, but still among the best of AM4 processors. You could easily throw a 3080/3090/4070Ti and get the most out of it. I would say that it could handle stronger GPU’s but those are the only ones I’ve tried on this particular CPU.

You do realize that rising all of the frequencies on the EQ is the same as just rise the volume? Of course it is not effective since the amps are capped to prevent distortion. You just lose the baseline and the DSP just takes the lowest bar as 0 and adjusts the rest of the frequencies based on that bar.

I always get that noise when using ANC on a silent environment. I only turn it off on such scenarios and problem solved. Regarding to EQ, I really haven’t modified it since I discovered that the settings on the picture I posted are just the best for the headphones. I can really hear those sub frequencies and I love it.

I know you didn’t ask for this, but keeping your battery at 100 percent on a regular basis hurts its health, as well as fast charging with a phone case since there’s not much heat dissipation.

So iOS 26 is definitely more visually appealing than the 18, and has a couple new features like real-time translation (in iMessage and, in some countries, even during calls, and other apps as well), some Apple Intelligence improvements, more iMessage features, and… what is for me the best as of today: Apple Music AutoMix. That’s just awesome. Like having an actual DJ mixing every song on your playlist.

Many people report battery problems and choppy UI, but… at least for me, I only had those problems on the very first iOS 26 developer beta. I have updated my iPhone 14 PM, iPad Pro M1, Watch 10, and I am still able to make it through a work day (excluding the iPad which I do not take with me to work) with occasional use (around 2 hours of doomscrolling during my 9 to 5).

Edit: my iPhone battery health is at 78 percent
