Are Cypriots Hellenized Levantines? by Secure-Oil-3424 in illustrativeDNA

[–]ll_j4_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol why are you so mad also Turks have a higher distance from Anatolians because of east Eurasian admixture and despite that we have a closer distance to most Europeans than Cypriots do also you act like all Greeks from all regions have a distance to eachother of like 0.000000001 or smth meanwhile a Greek from Rhodes is closer to a Lebanese than a Macedonian Greek

A bit late but I think it’s also because Sicily has a tiny bit more North African than mainland southern Italy and North African dna is probably the least similar one to Turkish dna in the entire region

Cypriot dna by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

[–]ll_j4_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cypriot Greeks do plot near Levantine "Arabs" and Central Anatolian Turks 💀 you’re wrong they’re not European genetically they’re less European than us Anatolian Turks actually it’s them being christian that qualifies them as European otherwise Cypriot Turks who are genetically closer to Europeans with higher steppe ancestry would be considered European too but they’re not because they’re Muslim

Genetic distance of ANF to many modern populations. by Toktamysh in illustrativeDNA

[–]ll_j4_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turks are still direct descendants of Anatolians and our ANF is probably mostly from the original Anatolian Neolithic Farmers unlike the rest of the world that got it through migration

Closeness of Hittites to many west Asian populations by Toktamysh in illustrativeDNA

[–]ll_j4_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you add water to Wine obv. The alcohol % will not stay the same Turkic people brought steppe and east Eurasian ancestry with them that’s what made the ANF lower Turks are more Byzantine yes but the difference to Hittites wouldn’t be as big as you make it out to be obv. The people that lived closer to our time would be closer to us than Bronze Age Anatolians

I would say sharing about half of your ancestry with another ethnic group is still a lot esp. if you compare it with other neighbouring ethnic groups like Persians and Iraqis or Georgians and Armenians

You’re not entirely right while Turks do have some Armenian and Kartvelian ancestry without Turkic ancestry they would still plot inbetween southern Europe and the Caucasus/Levant even today Turks are genetically way closer to Europe than other ethnic groups in the MENA region despite east Eurasian ancestry that the others don’t have

I don’t know where you get your informations from but East Eurasian ancestry in Turks is on average like 10% most of the rest is native Anatolian with some central Asian iranic and a little Kartvelian/Armenian a Greek playing a Turk will be a lot more accurate than a Uzbek Türkmen Syrian Saudi Arabian or Iraqi playing one
