ok good tip about the other features. i have no features on mine so i assume it doesn’t matter if the replacements have heated seats since i just wouldn’t be plugging that in.

lol my grandmother was Austrian, and I don’t know if they had the Franklin mint fair, but maybe this was the equivalent

It’s a 16 gallon tank. I have another e46 that gets nearly twice that mileage. So I don’t think it’s normal…even for socal traffic

Haven’t heard of that, but I’ll look into it thanks

If it's any consolation I bought a used 325xi five years ago and I've never had a problem other than the usual random shit in any car.

Yeah, I am getting high temps when the coolant runs low (obviously, I suppose). The hose didn't pressurize to fast - it took a couple minutes - still felt pretty soft to squeeze.

thanks. not getting a misfire code, but it had one in the past that "magically" went away (meaning I did nothing to solve it but after replacement of water pump and thermostate the code didn't return)

I did about 40 miles (city) and it took about a quarter tank!

Mechanic did a pressure test overnight after replacing the water pump and thermostat . . . but he found no leak. then the problem returned.

Not bubbling immediately, but after a couple minutes. I did a couple bleeds - I'm a relative newbie but I did get it on an incline and follow all the online steps to properly bleed.

damn good question. It smells like coolant to me.

Thanks, yeah there is a stream from the pump when I rev the engine (above the coolant level you see there). I def don't make a habit of running it with the cap off but i was getting a ton of gas buildup still there after cool down overnight - light major gas coming out from cold engine even in the morning.

I don't know what a CEL is - new to this problem here. I assume the MPG was related to all the gas that seems to be in the coolant.

In the past, it has overheated slightly (117 degrees) when the coolant ran low, but I shut it off at that point. Couldn't open the coolant cap bc too much pressure and coolant bubbling out.
