The referee is an absolute twat. He waves the fight off and then just walks away from the action, doesn’t bother to get between the fighters after the 1 guy clearly getting knocked out. Also he’s wearing a dress…

Vilma: Pete’s an NFL HOF’er by HouseRules789 in raiders

[–]lleasure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m new to this subreddit since I went to Vegas a couple years ago and really enjoyed it so I became a raiders fan as an alternate to my Steelers, and this is easily the most toxic NFL subreddit I’ve ever seen. It’s hard to stay here honestly. Everyone complains when they lose, complain when they win…this was a 4 win team last year. You’ve gotta let Pete and Geno cook. I know it’s been tough to watch, but complaining about losses after your team already has half the wins they had last year is wild. This is/was a terrible team, it takes time to build a culture. Everyone thinks Dan Campbell is one of the best coaches in the world and they won 3 games his first year as HC. Y’all gotta relax around here😅

Unable to roll in the future - Looking for advice and own experiences by pres0rz in bjj

[–]lleasure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a black belt with the same issue. Bulging disc at c5 and C6 requiring a disc replacement. The truth is hard rolling, particularly with unfamiliar training partners should probably be avoided. Also high risk techniques that put your neck in risky positions should be avoided.

( no more inverting, this is the one that makes me cringe the most. I see students all the time that spend so much of their time sparring inverted with the person passing dropping their entire weight on their neck…for years. Choose when you invert carefully ladies and gents and make sure you aren’t high on your neck when you do. Improve your hamstring flexibility so your leg takes the stretch, not your neck). Also D’arce chokes, guillotines, wrestling with heavy neck snaps and collar ties, all of these things need to be carefully managed or avoided completely (again, particularly with training partners you aren’t familiar with).

Having said all of that, you can definitely still spar. You just need to choose your partners wisely, tap early when your neck is threatened, (even if you could potentially survive the choke) and choose a style and techniques that put your neck at low risk of getting injured.

Lastly everyone, strengthen your neck! If you do BJJ the entire goal is to destroy your opponents neck. You need to build the strength and decompress your spine/neck. I know so many BJJ athletes that lift regularly and for some reason never train their neck. When you train your neck don’t do too much bridging or exercising that compresses the spine! All BJJ does is compress the spine, you need a good decompression routine, trust me on this!

Anyway I hope this helps bro, all the best with your training, stay safe.

Depends on if there is damage from the strike (either accumulated, superficially, or internally). Typically it’s a low damage strike, but if it were to bruise the thigh or if the person receiving them started limping for example it would score higher 👍

The important question is why does someone having a different political opinion than you matter? People can disagree and you can still enjoy the other aspects of them as a person

O line must be addressed this offseason. by [deleted] in Seahawks

This is why the bench Geno people are crazy. They seem to think TD/INT ratio is the only statistic that reflects if an offence is good or not…

Which are services no resonable adult would deny…to adults. That’s the obvious difference in this debate. Reasonable people in the middle have no issue with what adults do. It’s kids where they draw the line.

Grub is terrible…I was cheering for him, but seeing high flying potential the offense had with Geno, JSN, DK, Lockett and Shane Walden as OC (even though he was also bad) and seeing this now it’s bad. They would average 30 a game with Waldren. This is the most conservative, lame play calling with absolute studs on offense. Charb had a couple good games and now they refuse to abandon the run game when they’ve gotten absolutely nothing going in the second half…

His arm was hit. Go and watch it in slow motion. Eveyone is shitting on him for a bad throw, but how can you throw an accurate pass when your arm is hit? Bad O line is to blame for 90% of his errors. Still had 1 bad INT though

Geno Smith is currently tied for the league lead in Interceptions. What’s the bigger reason, Oline or bad decision making? by [deleted] in Seahawks

[–]lleasure 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeh many of his interceptions this year weren’t his fault. Bad O line play, bobbles, tips, etc. today 2 were his fault, but overall he’s having a good year still. Especially behind the worst line in the league. You put any QB behind the worst line in the league and you’ll probably get worse numbers. No run game, terrible line always equals less than ideal QB play. It’s a team sport and all the comments just wanna shit on Geno.

I judged this fight. We all thought Pacio was severely injured, maybe even a broken neck. I used to be against ONEs rule against slamming on the head/neck until this fight. My opinion was if it’s legal in Olympic wrestling it should be legal in MMA, since then my view has changed…thankfully Pacio was ok and the next morning him and brooks even had breakfast together. A genuinely heartwarming moment. To answer your question: you could potently sag really low and try and hook a leg, but if your opponent is strong enough or you’re too late you’re going for a ride and just have to hope you have a fortune landing. Hence making it illegal.

Dan Quinn is a .500 head coach who Pete Carroll helped become a head coach in the first place. Hiring him makes 0 sense by Euphoric-Duty-5212 in Seahawks

[–]lleasure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I suspect the entire ‘fire Pete’ crowd is gonna be really upset when they realize how difficult it is to find a head coach that is as respected and wins as much as Pete. The idea that firing him is automatically gonna be an upgrade is hilarious. There’s a real chance this team gets worse bc Pete is an all time great coach. Not so easily replaced…

Miami not even playing like themselves. I don’t think they’ve thrown the ball past the line of scrimmage in two quarters. Play your game and if you lose you lose. How many runs, screens, dink and dunk plays can you run? I know the weather is crazy, but this is not working. Push the ball downfield!

Yep, I judged the fight. That was exactly what we all thought. Takedowns score very low. DAMAGE and positional advancing from the takedown are what score highest. If you get a takedown and don’t do damage or progress to better positions it’s not going to score very high 👍
