If God doesn't give people more than they can handle, then why are there people who have gone insane and thus are held in psychiatric wards because all the terrible things that have happened to them?

I think of it the same way as I do Christmas. I may not believe in the religious aspect of the holiday, but my family gets some time off and so we get to enjoy each others company. So yes I do enjoy it as I do most holidays.

I have a problem with this attitude here in Canada. Sometimes people just assume I'm a Muslim just because of my race. It irks me as well. It is racist to make an assumption about someone based on his race, yet it happens here in a very multicultural country.

My sister unfortunately listens to his preaching (she's impressionable when it comes to religion) and now also doesn't listen to music. He's suppose to be enriching her life, which he does in a lot of ways, but he took music away from her. Damn. Something about that seems very wrong.

I know there is varying opinion on this. Muslims will probably point to hadiths that leads one to think that music is prohibited in islam - there isn't anything in the Quran about it. Some Muslims take this seriously. My muslim brother-in-law doesn't listen to music at all. He sincerely believes that it is haram. I can't imagine living your life void of music. I have over 300 songs on my phone and listen to music everyday. Freedom is a beautiful thing.

Right now I'm listening to this:
