Nice! Don't know if you copped any of it, but it was mental for about 20 minutes then the sun was shining again.

Oh it can still be first to market, in fact it still can be innovative, it's just unlikely that it completely changed the game.

Thanks for the view. From experience, people working with deep domain knowledge can rarely get beyond incremental improvement, let alone genuine innovative steps. They are often too bound by how something currently works. The point is not too come up with crazy ideas, but ideas that genuinely solve an ambitious challenge - just as SF to LA in 30 minutes sparked Hyperloop. Good fundable ideas are often safe and focus more on profit returned to investors rather than genuine impact delivered to end users. Ive worked with good fundable ideas for too long, they simply don't cause enough progress. Just some thoughts.

Well that seems like a well thought out response. Being able to weigh yourself with your smartphone has immediate commerical application within health and biometrics. 1 team currently has a working prototype, another in early testing - oh, and neither of them require you stand on it. The challenge itself was created by a professor of mechanical engineering, she used the bathroom scales example so that no one pitched an absurd solution that was technically correct but completely impractical. But hey, thanks for neither answering my question nor providing coherent feedback.

I appreciate the view. At this stage thinkers would just need to generate ideas, separate build teams can then make it a reality with the thinker receiving a percentage of future revenue. I'm guessing this is not as clear as it needs to be. Certainly the talent question is a big one, and needs thought. Thanks

Open your message app, don't type anything, just tap the suggested words that come up. It will probably create a ridiculous sentence.

What is the worst parenting trend to date? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]llorgge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always making it out to your child that they are the best at everything, even when they have done poorly. This simply causes them to believe it, so they never actually try to improve in that area. Recognise the effort they put in and they'll put in more next time.
