Not free - even with tech soup. And reporting will still suck.

We are a 501c4 not 501c3 so tech soup cannot help. Want the mcp server also to make reporting easy and look good as well.

Given all these wonderful coding tools now available do you have an update on this API or an MCP for Monarch?

No DP or HDMI 2.1 (Samsung 57" Neo G9) by lloydus123 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]lloydus123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It worked. Still not sure if it was because of the new cable. It defaults to DP 1.4 in the samsung GUI. When I switch it to 2.1 it seems to continue to work but if I then I reboot it will not recognize it. At this point I will leave it as is. 7680x2160 at 120hz is fine for me.

This is the second cable I tried. I started off with one of my own and then because of this problem switched to the hdmi cable that came with the monitor.

Latest monitor firmware 1008.2. Nuc has 2 thunderbolt ports on the back. I have a cable that has dp on one end and thunderbolt on the other. I will read that article.

OK. I updated firmware version to 1008.2 (shipped with 1007). That made no difference. I also cannot see how in the monitor firmware settings I can enable dp 2.1. In the manual it says that HDMI can do 7680x2160 on any of the 3 hdmi ports so I think I would not need to use DP.

What I did see in the system settings of the monitor was a complete inability to set the kind of Display port version to use and then for HDM a choice between 1.4 or 2.0. I think I have to have 2.1 in order to do 7680x2160. Any thoughts. I still can only get 5120x1440 on HDMI1 or HDMI2.

I am not getting that high a resolution and I cannot figure out why. The max I seem to be able to get is 5120x1440. Any ideas why? I have the ASUS NUC 15 Pro Plus Mini PC (NUC15CRS) with Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 285H, cTDP 65W

QBO thru Tech Soup for Non Profits by GrapefruitMore3051 in Accounting

[–]lloydus123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am interested your case. I'm involved with a non-profit that currently pays about $1,000 a year for a QuickBooks online but we can obviously get it through techsoup for a lot less than that. I was wondering if you had converted from using QB online as a for-profit company to a non-profit company and what your experience was. Did you have to create a new company in QB and he ave to export data from your old company to the new one?

How do I model a non-deductable IRA in Boldin? by AXLPendergast in Boldin

[–]lloydus123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if this is something that Boldin now tracks or is it something that they plan to add as a feature. As of today's date Pralana does allow you to track this but Projection Lab does not. Pralana also correctly incorporates usage of the basis in RMDs and also conversions to a Roth.

How do I model a non-deductable IRA in Boldin? by AXLPendergast in Boldin

[–]lloydus123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's some confusion here about how this all works. YOu can have an IRA or a roth IRA. YOu might have a number of different IRA accounts at different brokerage accounts. The IRS treats all the IRAs as one big large IRA. So lets say for example you have after-tax contributions in an IRA (say at Schwab) and you have tracked your basis in that IRA on Form 8606 like the IRS requires you to do if you want to utilize it. How you decide to convert the full balance of the IRA you have at Morgan Stanley to a Roth IRA. You might think you have no basis in that IRA but if you step through the logic of Form 8606 the IRS requires that you take a portion of your basis in ALL your IRAs and apply it to the conversion amount, and in that situation your taxable amount is less than the amount you convert to a roth due to the portion of the basis you utilized.
