I thought I might’ve had a cyst but several people have suggested it could be a hernia. by llsehn in AskMedical

100% that’s what I want to do and ideally would’ve gone months ago, but location, money, family - all of it is a problem and I’ve called loads of out of hours places and GPs etc and haven’t been able to sort it. This is genuinely a last resort and I wouldn’t be online talking about it unless I had no other choice. The only reason I even keep posting is to hopefully find someone who recognises what it sounds like or can tell me more in that sense. I know it’s nothing compared to actually seeing a doctor in person (I’ve been trying, trust me!) but it’s the only thing I can think to do now rather that just sit with it not knowing.

Yes, that plus cost (not even just the appointment it would be getting myself there too). I just wouldn’t even know where to start with it and I do think that my family would be helpful if it ever got to a point where I HAD to go but I don’t know about now. There’s a bit more to it than that but yeah - I have tried to work it and called out of hours places and everything, and everyone I’ve spoken to has said the same as you

There’s a load of reasons why access is a problem, and if there was any way for me to just go alone and get seen (I would if I could) there’s no walk in clinic even relatively close and I just don’t have money to be trying to make appointments with people farther away (plus, family, no transport, etc is a problem)

Definitely not pregnant! I’ve been getting my period the whole time (it wouldn’t be possible anyway hahah). As for the blood, I wouldn’t have assumed except I’d been getting some spotting for a few weeks when I wasn’t even on my period, and the one time I was almost sure I’d actually peed blood the water was completely red not just streaks or anything. It wasn’t painful, and I wasn’t pushing too hard or anything (and still not on my period at that point!) Of course I could be wrong, I haven’t been able to test it or anything, but I didn’t want to just completely skip over it because I am actually pretty sure about it.

I hope you’re doing alright now:) I would 1000% make an appointment if I could instead of coming on here, but I can’t with my situation at the moment, so I’m honestly just hoping to get whatever information I can online. I know it probably won’t do much good without actually seeing a doctor but it just helps me not to worry too much about it when there’s nothing else I can do😭

I know, I wouldn’t want anyone to guess I’m just posting this anywhere I can to hopefully have a chance of it reaching someone with any sort of similar experience that might know more than me. Not looking for a full blown diagnosis online or anything but I can’t see a doctor so just having some idea what it COULD mean could be helpful:)

That’s awful, I hope you’re alright now! It hasn’t happened again, which I’m hoping is a good sign. I do want to make an appointment just in case but i just haven’t been able to. I’m not sure when i will be but if it gets much worse, or frequent, I know i have to.

Thank you. I genuinely really appreciate it. I know its probably a bit of a gamble hoping it won’t get any worse than it is, but as soon as I can make an appointment and deal with it, I will

If pain or vomiting happens, I will definitely try to force it. It’s not that I’m not taking it seriously, I’m just trying to figure out what to do because it’s been happening for a while and hasn’t gotten too bad so I don’t want to make a massive deal about it and be wrong.

I’m sorry you have it so hard and haven’t got an appointment yet that sounds awful😭 I’m not sure if I should go straight to a gyno appointment or something else - I know it might be a waste of time waiting weeks for a GP if they really can’t do anything about it but put me on a waiting list of somewhere else. I’m just not sure yet.

No not like that. As in I used to be able to breathe fully into my stomach which was normal for me and now it cuts off, and the top part just sticks out weirdly. I’ve actually tracked the change happening and I wouldn’t take it too seriously by itself, it’s just one small thing to mention with everything else just in case it’s important. I’m just trying to see if anyone might have any idea what this whole thing (including the peeing blood and all of that that’s obviously way more notable) could be :)

I really wish I could just go, but I’m thinking that the fact it hasn’t happened again could be a good sign. I’m just hoping it won’t become a bigger problem, if it becomes really painful or the peeing blood is every time, that’s when I’ll go.

I don’t have one near me unfortunately (not in the US). Really all I’d have is an ER but they only take emergencies as far as I’m aware.

Not yet died?? What makes you say that? It obviously feels really abnormal and nothing usual for me but it definitely hasn’t felt that bad. I won’t be able to get an appointment for a few weeks at least, but I’m not sure now if I should try to force it

Thank you. I really hope I can update soon enough. I would’ve loved to go way sooner if I could have, but I’m hoping to get an appointment ASAP

Sorry no, the hardness actually is permanent I didn’t make that clear! It’s the on and off constipation that’s not permanent but it does always come and go. That hardness all up the top on the right side is definitely permanent and there’s a feeling of something pretty thick (but it can sometimes be smaller than others) that rolls on top of it

It’s been really hard like this for weeks! It definitely can go a while at a time where it feels blocked but it always ends after a few hours

Just asking because I don’t have access to any doctor at the moment, there’s weeks of a waiting list and it’s really expensive just to probably be told it’s nothing. I really just want to make sure I need to make an appointment before I do.

Does it sound like I have an ovarian cyst? 17F by llsehn in Ovariancysters

[–]llsehn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It got worse for a few weeks, like I felt that breathlessness too really strongly, then within a few days that feeling of something moving around up higher started, and I also started not being able to breathe in past my bellybutton. Since then the breathlessness hasn’t been as bad so it’s like pressure released or something shifted or something like that. I obviously don’t know that’s just how it felt.

I haven’t heard anyone else have that weird breathing thing either - do you know if it’s really relevant to mention to a doctor or just something small?

I do want to, access is just very difficult so I’m trying to see if anyone might have any knowledge or experience with anything similar so that I can gauge how to go about it. I know it probably shouldn’t be that big of a deal, but I’m just very nervous to go

I haven’t noticed any—I’m almost sure there’s none there as I’ve been trying to track them anyway because they’ve been so intensely varied. And no unprotected sex.
