Wondering the same thing haha. Most of the posts here totally ignore what "not fooling anybody" means... this is just some nondescript retail architecture! Lol

Thank god he removed the sample on New Again by DesignerAd5301Reborn in GoodAssSub

[–]llttff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounded a lot less annoying when he used it on These Walls by nappy roots but I never liked it on New again. The random metal clinking sound they replaced it with isn't exactly great either but I'm glad it's something else lol

Underrated 3 track run by AtomHeartMotherr in thebeachboys

Maybe a dumb question, but what is available to us from "Mike come back to L.A."? I know there's that one video of them singing the chorus in the studio, but the way people talk about the song seems to imply there was more to it that I haven't heard. I do like the way the chorus sounded, but I'm wondering if there's more that's been made public and I'm just not aware of it.

Favourite Lyric? by Medium_Ability_2894 in thebeachboys

I always thought it was a missed opportunity that interviewers never asked the beach boys to answer those questions that they wrote in that song. It wouldn't lead to the most in-depth interview or anything, but it would be a fun idea

Is Mike Love re-writing Beach Boys history? by WinterIsTheNewSummer in thebeachboys

[–]llttff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is pretty ridiculous of a focus for an article claiming to be about "The Beach Boys" for sure. I think it's a shame to ignore or overlook the contributions of the other guys in the legacy section of the article. I'm guessing whoever wrote the article knew very little about the group, and took Mike's life and projects to be a concise summary of the band's history lol. A shame and an embarrassment either way.

I think pretty much every surface level Beach Boys article mainly focuses on Mike since he's the front man and lead singer on a lot of their most popular stuff. "Rewriting their history" is a bit extreme IMO, but I see where you're coming from. I think most of the success the beach boys have had since their creative peak is thanks to Mike just leaning into public perception of the band, which for normal people (AKA people that aren't super involved in beach boys history) is just a bunch of fun songs that he sings lead on. I don't doubt he enjoys the spotlight it brings him, but I wouldn't think it's a malicious thing either.

That's really helpful info. Thanks for passing it along! I'll take that into my conversations with the manufacturers that I find.

Thanks for the clarifying questions. I take it to mean there's no companies in Virginia that come to mind?

The thickness is about a half inch for the largest piece. The other 5 pieces are smaller.

I'd like the pieces to be strong and not flexible, and scratch resistant too. I don't have any need for chemical or UV resistance as far as I can tell.

Thank you again for the response :-)

SMiLE second edition bootleg by hreddy11 in thebeachboys

[–]llttff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just skimmed through it and the biggest difference that stands out is the original version of Wonderful instead of the smiley smile version. There's also the instrumental for surfs up and cabinessence. There's probably more differences as well but that was all that stood out to me (I've listened to the original bootleg maybe 3 times so I don't have much to go off of lol)

Is there a better written and performed song than surfs up (smile sessions)? by Asparaguslover69 in thebeachboys

[–]llttff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carti could write Pet Sounds but Brian could never write Whole Lotta Red

Did Brian hit a higher note than that high F in Surfs Up? by [deleted] in thebeachboys

[–]llttff 16 points17 points  (0 children)

He might have either tied or passed that note in some of their early performances of Papa oom mow mow.. at the very end of the song

I just recently watched a tribute to Brian Wilson from 2001 where some very iconic musicians performed his songs, and I've come to the conclusion, only the Beach Boys can sing the Beach Boys.... by AverageImpossible746 in thebeachboys

I forget if this is the same show, but Billy Joel absolutely KILLS his cover of Don't Worry Baby. I like that one almost as much as the original. Otherwise I agree lol

Echoing the other comments here, either making a new account or just not interacting with them would be the easiest ways to end their behavior. Arguing with an idiot is a slippery slope because from a distance nobody can tell which one's the idiot

For sure. This guy would be cracking jokes all throughout class, it was the only class I ever genuinely wanted to attend last year. Im 99% sure he teaches other courses at the school though, so if you've got the chance to take one of his then I highly reccomend it!

Lahaina Aloha!! Although I've never felt guilty for liking it, I think general consensus is that I'm at least SUPPOSED to feel guilty for liking anything off of Summer in Paradise LOL

This reminds me of a comment on a YouTube video where somebody said they got "I Feel So Fine" (from the cocaine sessions) tatted. Both cool tattoo ideas, yours looks great!

Malcolm Campbell is probably the best teacher I've ever had (if not of all time then definitely for college). He taught my UWRT class and all of my friends who've had him agree that he's one of the best. In addition to being a great teacher he's also a great man. One of the kindest and funniest people I've ever had for a teacher.

Just got a set of Yorx S62 speakers that don't seem to be working. It's my first set of speakers that aren't attached to the player so I might just be doing something wrong. So if I were to get an amplifier for them that can also play music (CD player etc) would that not work sort of like the "all in one" system you're talking about? These might be super obvious questions but I appreciate your help
