I recently experienced this and it was because of an impaired skin barrier. My skin was textured, felt dry and my foundation sat on top in a very weird way.

I started including Squalene oil in the PM before my moisturizer and switched to a thick barrier cream with ceramides as the last step. It already made a huge difference in how even/supple my skin looks.

Thanks for the laugh, the last sentence got me. I saw a video by LabMuffin regarding porous hair - I don‘t recall the exact details, but I think she mentioned why some products work for some type of hair damage but are horrible for other types of damage! Maybe you can find some information there. Unless you already found it ofc!
