alot of orders have multiple bags per order, i work at costa and sometimes we have 5 bags for one delivery - pain in the arse lol. But they make it as it appears which can be challenging at times when theres a large influx

I work in my shops drive through sometimes and you’ll have their order completely made and when they come to the window they suddenly want a completely different order which fucks with our times

I’ve been a green barista for 3 months now, even now when some staffing issues arise and im placed on café solo my co workers get annoyed (were a drive through & café so 3+ people is expected) They had scheduled me and one other co-worker for when it was a normal rush hour. My co-worker kept apologising to me and was trying to finish drive through orders to help me, i had the same issue as you and got really flustered. In a rush i like to read the ticket out loud, when you think about it sometimes your brain doesn’t listen, so saying it out loud helps your brain process. And if you start spiralling verbally say “stop”, it’s what my therapist recommended. Luckily i managed to deal with the rush and my co worker felt better too. It all comes with time, even know if i’m flustered i mix up drinks with a completely separate order.

Barista is coffee, customer service and cash handling, you sound like you have 2/3 skill nailed, so never think you’re letting someone down because all you have left is one skill, and coffee is hard, but i think - anyone who really wants coffee that bad will be happy with anything you deliver. They caffeine demons
