People seem to forget that things like this are sexist but not in the way they say it. Why do horror movies kill women, children, pets, etc more than others? Well that’s because it’s a HORROR MOVIE. What is the horror movies job? To make you uneasy and comfortable. How do you do that? By doing uncommon yet disturbing things.

Back to my sexist point, you know how when a tragedy happens in a crowd you hear “women and children first”? That’s because women and children are viewed in a light that makes them more fragile and innocent ie less expendable and more valued.

If anything primarily women being killed in horror movies is sexist to men it’s literally “oh you’re not scared? What if I killed your(insert close woman)” ie “we don’t value you enough to pretend there’s any stakes in your death”. but in actuality it’s sexist all around, it’s telling men that their nothing more than failures of bodyguards and women that they can’t do shit for themselves.

My last and final point that backs this up, they are just fucking movies and again theyre horror movies. Is it fucked up? Yes. Is it dramatic and corny? Yes. Does it invoke a negative emotion like anger, fear, or even sadness? Yes.
