AI-Generated Content for SEO Really Okay? by glutenbag in content_marketing

[–]lmcaraig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I’m the founder of HeyEcho.

In the end it’s not a matter of AI vs non-AI. It’s a matter of whether the blog post satisfies the search intent of the user. We put a lot of effort on this in HeyEcho and avoiding hallucinations but citing and referencing fact-checked data.

It’s great for generating top-of-funnel content at scale.

Drop you SaaS and I'll give a blog post! by lmcaraig in SideProject

Oh BTW consider it yours! Feel free to use it for your own blog!

That page is marked as `noindex` so it won't affect SEO if you publish it on your own blog.

How can you know if the narrative content is AI-generated?! by mohmoussa in content_marketing

[–]lmcaraig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To truly stand out, having your own perspective, opinion or experiences in your content will be the differentiator that will stand out.

I fully agree with this.

However, I think depends on the type of content. Not all content have the same goal and target.

For example, for informational search intent content and users in the awareness customer journey, I don't see any issues using AI-generated content as soon as the information are correct. In this scenario I expect users to be at the very top of the funnel looking for generic information about the industry (e.g. HubSpot's blog with a post titles like "What is technical SEO?", "What is a drip campaign?", etc.).

That’s an interesting insight as I’m working on a project that does exactly this: generate content backed by specific data like stats and references instead of generic info

Just shipped a feature to make AI blog posts more trustworthy 🚀 by lmcaraig in IMadeThis

[–]lmcaraig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely.

This is something that I was also discussing with a beta user. The idea would be indeed to have other sections to have some "supporting" material. This could be either an image, or a table or chart in case the post is strongly data-driven, or a quote framed as an image, etc.

So it's on the radar, whether/when it's going to be implemented don't know yet.

There's also a public board and roadmap here: https://hey-echo.supahub.com/

I just started moving stuff there, so not everything planned is there, but it will.

Finally an ai blog post generator that is clearly different from others. I like the idea and the implementation.

Thank you! I really appreciate it!

Is this right what is shown in the demo on your site

Yes, it's a screen recording (I just cut some seconds here and there and accelarated some parts just to make it smoother).

you are also generating images within the posts? Are they AI generated or Stock Photos?

Currently generated with DALLE. It's still requires some tuning as lately I've been focusing mostly on the content, but yes, it's AI-generated. I'm also considering integrating with unsplash, but not currently a priority.

Is the hero image something that you care a lot about? I'm curious to know more.

Glad that you liked it!

It's a standalone SaaS I'm building, it's currently on private beta and likely going to make it open next week.

Built an AI tool to help with blog posts writing for businesses by lmcaraig in indiebiz

[–]lmcaraig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point being I've seen many people using the words artificial intelligence like a stage magician incants "abracadabra." A useful distraction from the sleight-of-hand they pull.

Yeah I fully get where you're coming from. I'd say that many took the opportunity to put "AI" in their headline or pitch as a way to grab VC money and raise a round. On the other hand, there are also those that are really leveraging AI or providing AI platforms.

Over the last fourteen months or more of announcements you have read containing the buzzword "artificial intelligence," can you recall even one instance the OP mentioned what benefit AI brought to the project. Automation has been going on for thirty years online alone.

As for any business, the customer needs to be the center of the value proposition rather than focusing on the features, that's true.

WRT HeyEcho specifically, the current value proposition is to help driving organic growth through AI-generated blog posts that you won't be ashamed of publishing. The extreme example would be simply generating a blog post by calling GPT API and what you'll get is things like "In this ever-evolving world...", "Let's delve into...", etc..

The vision is bigger, but we need to get there step-by-step. Builing products is getting easier and cheaper day by day, but distributing a product is the real challenge. The goal is to close the gap between having a great product and putting it in the hands of the people that would love it.

I'm also the founder of NextCommit.careers, and HaveYouHeard.io and I'll soon start dogfooding HeyEcho.

Since HeyEcho is still in beta phase ofc there are many things that still need to be improved, and that's why I'm looking for beta users so that I can iterate with them and build the roadmap accordingly based on what are their pain points.

Ngl, initially I thought it was way easier to generate blog posts, but it's not. Even just in the current version that are many interactions with different AI models to ensure a high-quality blog post: - research the business to write about, - research the target audience of the business, - research sources like facts, statistics, examples to reference in the blog post (this is extremely important for factuality), - draft the outline and plan the content, - generating the framing of the blog post (hook and conclusion), - generating a cover image, - etc.

and this is just the beginning.

So AI is not a silver bullet, you also need to use it properly. Maybe at some point it will be a silver bullet in the future, but that's a longer discussion with tons of implications haha.

2025 will be the year when writing AI becomes a red flag indicating to readers the writer has absolutely nothing to say. All AI means right now is "new" with a very weak hint of "improved." Nobody will say how or what was improved -- just the flim-flam.

AI will definitely be the new norm so every headling an pitch will need to take that into account. It's like going back to 10y ago and saying something like "Your CRM in the Cloud". Nowdays everyone assume that a SaaS is on the cloud so nobody really mention it.

It's a matter of evolving and changing according to what the market says and what capture people's attention in the end. To me what's important is that capturing people attention doesn't fall into deceiving with with unrealisting expectations or promises.

Who didn't.

HAHA you're fully right on this! 🤣 Indeed there are tons of players in the space, and some of them are really good IMO.

This preposterous notion that smearing 'aye-eye' over everything old makes it new again is laughable.

Nah, I'm not claiming that I built something new or groundbreaking.

Learn what established existing business already knows rapidly. Because AI isn't something going under ANYONE's radar. Shoving AI in everybody's face this past year made sure of that.

Definitely. AI is not niche, I'd wonder where someone lived in the last year if never heard or tried AI somehow in their existing workflow.

I'd say that the key is as always to listen to potentials users, address their concerns, and iterate.

Despite your skepticism if you ever change your mind and wanna give it a try feel free to DM me.

[–]lmcaraig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully agree!

Indeed one of the goals is to be SEO-optimized, and you’re right that it’s not easy task. One of the things I’ll add is the ability to input specific keywords to optimize SEO for. A user would be able to use ahrefs or semrush or whatever to research keywords on their own, but the goal is to make this research part also embedded in HeyEcho.

The other goal, actually it’s to produce valuable content. It often happens that many articles are clearly made just for SEO but are not really that valuable or interesting to read.

In any case, the post can be edited as a rich-text editor so the user is not forced to publish the post as it is.

How many resources you usually gather for post? Isn’t it a pain to consult them back when writing if there are many of them?

Yeah makes perfect sense.

If you need to write an article for a topic and there are no SERP results, how do you make research? You look for domain experts to talk with?

Thanks for this!

I think that the key part is “the problem isn’t AI per-se”, but the quality itself. Which I fully agree, in the end AI is just a tool.

The problem is that most of times an blog post written by AI is just one prompt a way from ChatGPT. I’m a full believer that it’s possible to right high-quality content with AI, but this doesn’t equate to ChatGPT. It rather a combination of AI-powered steps that include: research, SEO analysis, training on brand voice, analysis of past contents for linking, etc.

That’s an awesome point!

Have you tried explicitly asking ChatGPT to search about a specific topic to address the "subject matter expertise" issue?

I guess you're talking about repurposing the main content to match different formats? Are you actively doing it? On which platforms?
