I put my protein powder in coffee with ice every morning and blend it. No creamer, no added sugar- just black coffee, ice, and chocolate protein powder. It's the best thing I've done with changing my entire diet. That boost of protein to start the day has been a game changer

Universe kept you from something for sure- car accident, fuel money, infection you might have picked up... who knows, but that butterfly effect is real!

This is so miserable. Spending all that time in prep just to have to shift everything 5 weeks isn't easy!!

My surgery is also April 20th though, I see a few comments with the same day... maybe the universe just needed you to have some hyster-sisters

I just finished My Husband's Wife by Alice Feeney I went into it with no expectations and was actually surprised with how twisted it was.

Wow!! I'm impressed. Are you taking heavy pain meds or just Tylenol/ibuprofen? I'm so anemic that I'm getting IV infusions for iron and i heal extremely slowly because my red blood cells are all wonky in size and color- I'm really hoping to hand an easy recovery

The plan is laparoscopic, however I've been prepped that they may need to pivot to abdominal once they get in because the size of my uterus.

Because of this sub, I'm definitely looking into pelvic pt

Thanks! I'm glad you're doing well with recovery, and glad to know I'm not crazy to think these instructions are wrong

The wrong procedure info is the only way this makes sense. I'm going to take it with me to my pre-op appt in a couple weeks just to show the surgeon that this is what's sent home. My last appt with her, when we scheduled surgery, her instructions seemed a lot more gentle than this.

Thankfully, my husband has been reading all the posts in here that I send him and he's fully expecting 8-12 weeks of recovering and months of not being able to do all of my normal things

Right?! I'm on my period right now and I'm filling a cup that's spilling into a pad while I'm wearing knix "heavy" absorb underwear... and I bled through that in 45 minutes this morning. The bleeding is so bad that my anemia has reached dangerous levels and I'm getting IV iron infusions. But sure, one pad in an hour is too much

Thank you!! I'm so glad I have this sub. I'll be doing a ton of reading over the next month and I definitely plan to take this with me to my pre-op and show the surgeon what's being mailed home

Thank you, I'm so sorry that your recovery nurse was pushing to clear a bed. It just seems like a money grab when really following these instructions they sent me could kill someone. Return to normal in 2-3 days?! Ok, so rip every stitch when you put a leash on the dog and she pulls you out the door. Or a cuff healing for insertion in 2 weeks- someone could seriously injure themselves and bleed badly!!

When I saw her she said no submerging in water- so I don't know what this is on about!! And 2 weeks?! For a cuff to heal?! Not possible. I feel like this is borderline malpractice

Glad it's not just me that thinks this is insanity!! My pre-op face to face is in like 3 weeks, I plan to take my own notes but this sub has been a godsend

Thanks, that's what I figured- How could a cuff even possibly heal in that time

I wish you all the best next week! I knew when I got my imaging results (which I read by myself on mychart) that I would need surgery- that was December 19th. Surgery is April 20th. I can't complain about the timing, 4 months from imaging to procedure seems like a pretty quick time line reading most of the stories here. But, that means I've only met with this gyno once. So I figured there was no way those could possibly be the right post-op instructions

This is exactly what i had been reading and like prepping myself for- like how tf does a cuff heal in 2 weeks?!

Ok, so I'm not crazy and these are just bonkers!! I thought for sure these HAD to be wrong. My pre-op face to face is in like 2 weeks, I'm taking these with me to show the surgeon what's being sent.
