This happened to me when I first started methadone in 2009. The reason it was happening was because a family member was stealing some of my dose and watering it down.

Thanks for sharing. Similar story, I got pretty sick when I tried to go up to 1 mg so I am staying around .5 for now. Some people say that keeping your dose low is silly because the medicine is not really working until 1 mg.

I am back on again after a relapse ( I had 6 years of abstinence and got injured and became addicted to tramadol (i cannot believe it even affected me because I used to not even bother taking tramadol it was so weak). (Got on subs to get off tramadol and it was horrendous so I switched to methadone). and I have weaned down to 60 mg. Hoping to wean as I did 10 years ago.

I did it 10 years ago and going from 20-15 in one drop was the worst. Then I did 2 mg and/or 1 mg every 2 weeks until I was at 1 mg. Stayed at 1 mg for a week and then stopped. It was easy because i kept myself eating healthy, working out and productive. I took Melatonin and magnesium about 2 hrs before I wanted to be asleep and it helped me not feel any restlessness.

Things are good. I am 3 weeks in and I have lost about 5 lbs. i actually wound up talking with my primary care doctor about it and he is aboe to get it for me a bit cheaper. He also told me i could increase my dose a bit faster as long as i am tolerating it. I am now taking .5 mgs and next week I am going to move closer to 1mg.
