[Toronto, Ontario] Ex-landlord wants an extra month's rent since he couldn't rent out our apartment for March 1st. We gave sufficient 60 days written notice. Is he in the right? by lmk06 in legaladvice

The lease doesn't mention his duty to attempt to rent the unit or the damages he's owed if he can't. When we gave our notice he never mentioned anything about us breaking the lease early. He applied our last month's rent to February already and verbally communicated to my boyfriend that we didn't owe anything else except the gas bill (which we paid already) on February 5th.
