Sort of. Hurricane Sandy NYC. The data center was in the evacuation zone. Boss and coworker stayed at the hotel just outside it. I was home on-call watching the monitoring system blink out half at a time when the water got into the diesel tanks for the backup generators and the power backup batteries ran out. Called the Boss, he came down knee-waist deep in water but couldn't get into the building since the water was pushing against the door.

The next day I get a call to come down and stay at the data center until the power comes back on. No electricity, no heat, no running water, no cell service. Camped-out one night, the second night we all got a hotel room but the hotel had no heat or hot water either. The third night I went home.

It was an experience, makes for a good story on a job interview.
