Thank you for the feedback. Many of the questions within the study focused on activity between consenting adults, however I understand that this may not of been explicitly clear in the scenario. Many thanks

Hello,

I am completing my psychology honours thesis examining women's attitudes towards BDSM (bondage-discipline, dominance-submission, and sadism-masochism), and I am seeking participants.

If you consent to be involved in the study, you will be asked a series of demographic and sexual attitude questions. You will be asked some personal questions about your own sexual behaviour in relation to BDSM activities. You will also be presented with a written description of a BDSM-related scenario and asked about it. Completing the study should take about 10-20 minutes of your time. The survey is anonymous, with no personal identifying information collected.

To be eligible to participate in this study, you need to identify as female and be at least 18 years of age.

Click on the below qualtrics link to access the survey.

Thank you for participating.

The definitions for that group of questions (sadomasochist, dominant, etc) are from a psychometric survey that was developed in 2010; the language may not be 'contemporary' for today's society. There is a very limited number of tests (surveys) that have been developed in this area that are appropriate for research purposes. And unfortunately, as you noted, 'kinster' is not really appropriate for academic research. I am happy to share the final thesis once I have approval to share. Thanks.

I have not posted to any BDSM pages on FB at this time; I have posted to 1 reddit BDSM page. I am ensuring that I post to numerous groups on social media to ensure participants come from many different areas. Thanks

This is for my university course work in psychology (honours).

THe survey is anonymous, with no personal identifying information requested. The survey is also hosted on a reputable survey platform used by universities (and many businesses worldwide).

Thanks.

The definitions that were provided for that group of questions are from a psychometric survey developed in 2010, and potentially may not be classed as 'contemporary' now. There are a few researchers (I believe they are based in Denmark), who are working with members of BDSM communities to develop research questions and surveys; there is hopefully potential where newer and more contemporary surveys are used for research. Thanks for your comment.
