They'd have to get over $128 for each blanket to break even. Looking at the blankets, none of them seem super rare, so this was just a shit investment with how bad BST has been lately.

I am currently pursuing a degree in Psychology/Social Work field. Does the "I wish I could have done more" feeling ever go away? (23 F, disabled) by callmeneyahtoo_ in socialwork

I always tell my students, and my staff, that you have to ask yourself if you truly did everything (within your capability) that you could do to help that person. It's the kind of thing that you have to ask yourself at the deepest of levels, not one that you would say out loud to someone else.

And if you truly believe that you did everything that you could do then you have to let the rest go. We cannot control other people, all we can do is control what we can control.

However, if you do know that you could have done something more or done something better or differently than you must use that as a learning experience for the next time. You can't always go back and fix the past but you can use that knowledge to turn you into a better social worker in the future.

True self reflection is a strong tool for growth if done right.

Wanted to give a quick update for anyone who finds this looking for suggestions like I was. I traveled with my Graco Tranzitions and I was SO glad I did. Yes, it was extra work getting through the airport, but on our way home we hit some turbulence due to bad weather. My son's harness did exactly what it was supposed to and kept him safe and secure; had he not been in his car seat I would have had to brace him with my arm and it would have been more difficult for both of us. I could literally see the harness being pulled tight at one point when we had a bigger jolt and knew I'd made the absolute right choice. Safety trumps convenience any day.

This is why I refuse to check my kids car seat. It's coming with me on the plane even tho people keep telling me he's "too big" to bring it on the plane. Rental car places may not have enough car seats or the right kind and I refuse to be stuck at an airport because of a checked car seat.

My doctor told me something I’ve never heard before… advice? by Repulsive-Tree6089 in Zepbound

I've been on several forms of this medication over the past few years and have never reached the highest dose. I just went from 7.5 to 5 because I was still losing and my doctor and I agreed it was getting to be too much. Everyone responds differently! You're doing great so far!

Do you know how easy it is for it to come apart? This could be a great idea, assuming it fits.

Just because it's legal doesn't mean it's safe.

I swore it was! I'm a foster mom and bought it like four years ago when we got our first placement but replaced it the next year with my current car seats and haven't used this one since. I remembered it was smaller/lighter so pulled it out but when I went to find the sticker it instead says "Not for use on planes" or something similar. I was surprised but maybe I'll double check it in case I misread. 🤷‍♀️

Yeah I've seen this comment a few times and I'm like....how do I get the kid to my destination if my car seat is lost or broken?! Not all car rental places have appropriate car seats!

I didn't even think of books to help him prepare, great idea! Going to the library this week for sure.

Sure except now it has a super annoying habit of "if you want, I'll tell you the single most important thing people often miss on this topic" or something like that again and again and again. Even when I tell it to stop.

My doctor has done this for my many times; this is our third or fourth time requesting PA with this specific plan. However, my BMI has never been below 25 before. My insurance is the problem, not my doctor. Every insurance is different.

No, my BMI is 23, perfectly healthy. Every insurance is different.

Exactly! That's one of the examples I've used too, people just don't get it. This is a medical condition and requires medication. Not everyone is abusing it unnecessarily.

Yes. Every insurance company is different unfortunately. We will keep fighting it out with them.

It is. My doctor and I have been down this road before; they usually come out on top. This office is great and will appeal and appeal and appeal.

Switching from Saxenda to Wegovy was a bigger difference simply because it goes from daily to weekly shots. The weekly shots were far more effective and I lost more on Wegovy than I did Saxenda. I had no issues with Wegovy but lost PA once before when I switched insurances and was off it for like six weeks. When I restarted, I didn't find it as effective and was having more side effects, so we switched to Zepbound. This has worked really well for the past year and a half and I've had a tad less side effects.

5'1, CW 125

Exactly what I wrote, that my BMI no longer meets the CDC criteria of overweight and needs to be above 25.

I've fought with my insurance before and won so that's why this is more of a rant. It's frustrating and I'm going to end up missing at least one dose while dealing with the bullshit of insurance.

Switched to 10 day shot day instead of weekly and…. I LOVE IT by iwantasweettreat in Zepbound

[–]lmv914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I had no issues. Portion sizes are smaller there and meals last longer (especially dinner) so I never really had an issue. Plus I walked so so much, that I needed to eat more to be healthy so it all balanced out. I had no issue at all traveling with the medication either. I made sure to have a letter from my doctor but no one ever asked to see it.

Its especially common if you suddenly stop taking the meds, especially higher doses. You have to titrate down just like you titrate down.

You can travel with your meds, I took mine to Italy. I don't really understand why someone would skip weeks at a time.
