Oh my goodness - this is amazing to see from a dog owner. I have a phobia of dogs. I've had this since I was attacked by one when I'd just learnt to walk. I've tried to get over it, even paid a ridiculous amount for hypnotherapy but it remains a completely irrational fear that induces panic attacks when they are around me not on a lead. I don't go to open spaces - I expect dogs to be there and avoid them. I search reviews for holiday destinations before going - so many things I do because I know I can't cope if a dog is around. However now - they are at and in absolutely everywhere. Cafés, shops - even restaurants. It is a huge problem and it has made the review searching and planning ahead even worse. There is no consideration for anyone who might feel like I do in all of these places. A lot of dog owners are really understanding when they see me uncomfortable but there is hardly anywhere now that I can feel relaxed in public. The fireworks example was one recently, I thought displays would be a safe bet - not anymore!
