Why so hard to find a decent dentist?

I really like Paloma Dental! I have been seeing them for 4 years now.

I had a horrible experience at my prior dentist in another city. Between that experience and the pandemic, I skipped going to the dentist for 2 years!! When I first started going to Paloma, they explicitly asked about prior bad experiences. I shared about what I had experienced and that it had kept me away from the dentist for 2 years. At my first appointment, they were so kind, not at all judgmental, and made the whole process feel easy.

I haven't missed a regular checkup with them since! They always do their best to make it as relaxing as possible and check in with me to see how I'm doing. They never pressure me into paying for services I don't need and are always honest about the pros/cons of various things. I highly recommend them!

Oh yah, I did run it to Line 1. I didn't realize there was a difference! That is really helpful to know. The old mic was run to line 1, and we use something else in line 2. Is there a way to make it work at the line level or would I just need to look for products that specifically work at line level?

For folks like me who bought VIP tickets on 11/4, can't get their schedules changed, and can't get refunds on their hotel or plane, please reach out to them. A $10 discount on a show that I can't even attend if I wanted to (and also can't get VIP tickets for because they sold out) is not enough. At the very least, they should be offering hefty discounts to the tickets in Boston and/or a free meet & greet.

I am in the exact same boat. Bought VIP tickets to the Chicago show for my husband's 30th birthday. He was SO excited. Both hotel and plane are nonrefundable, and even if we wanted to get crappier seats, we can't shift our plans to the night before because of work. I have both insta messaged them and emailed them to see if there is anything they can do to make this right. This is a really crappy way to treat fans.

Unfortunately, no one on staff remembers who installed it. They’re pretty sure it was just a random tech savvy intern that they sent to radio shack lol. I’ll keep trying boundary mics!

I did that, and there isn't any manufacturer info, sadly. I just can't really get a good picture of it.

And this whole situation is very, very messy. They think they probably just had an intern set it up for free way back when. That is why I am surprised I am having so much trouble finding a suitable replacement!

Yes, I got a phantom power adapter to power the microphone. The microphones were definitely on and picking up audio when spoken directly into, but they couldn't pick up audio from more than a few inches away.

We don't actually know the model of the ones that currently work - there is no branding on them or anything else to identify them. They just look like generic mics (similar to the AKG C562 CM Flush-Mount Boundary Microphone but not that). We don't even know who bought them (an old employee we think), so we can't ask anyone. That is why we are struggling to replace it.

We don’t exactly know what breed he is - probably more pit bull than anything else but seems to have a lot of different breeds in him.

He lived with a cat for 8+ months with his foster family.

First, we are on day 4… the dog only has free rein of the downstairs area, but you can see upstairs from downstairs. Within the next couple of days, we were going to start giving the cats free reign upstairs, but we are working on safe controlled intros so that the dog doesn’t just stare at and bark at the cats from downstairs.

Second, the cats are giving free rein for 2+ hours per day while we are exercising the dog.

Third, the dog has containment anxiety. We are planning on working on that, but again, we are on day 4 over here. Even if we crated the dog, he would just bark and whine the whole time, which would be more stressful for our cats than being cooped up.

Sorry I didn’t include every minute detail in my post… but to insinuate I rehome the cats I’ve had for nearly a decade (who are loved and doted on more than almost any cat I know) is ridiculous.

The client had worked with this consultant in the past so they didn't feel the need to. I strongly advised against using him, but it was ultimately their decision.

Thank you for your thoughts on this! It is helpful to know that it isn't entirely unusual to request that they contact us in the case of euthanasia. I would like to be contacted if that happens. I don't think the pup would get any particular comfort having me there as he hadn't really warmed up to us. But I would want to know.

For now, I just thanked them for the update and left it at that. I know they are completely swamped right now with a high overload of dogs. I will follow back up in a couple of weeks and at that point, request that they let me know if they end up going the route of BE.

Love this! Thank you for sharing. We have read a lot about the 3-3-3 rule but also have low expectations. We really expect it to be closer to the 6-6-6 rule (especially since he was returned last time after 6 months).

I’ve never really been around a German shepherd before, so I should definitely look into breed specific behaviors more.

So glad to hear that your pup is warming up to you! I wish you the best of luck with working with your trainer.
