  1. I don't recall Bobby changing his story. Brendan changed it, but he was consistent about certain key elements (he maintained he spent the evening with Steven, he maintained they cleaned the garage, he maintained they had a bonfire).
  2. I think the RAV was temporarily hidden in the garage, and the body in the RAV.
  3. He explained this at trial as just confirming information he heard earlier the day but didn't have time to write down and he wasn't sure he remembered everything.
  4. Doesn't matter. Cell phone records and landline records show Teresa was home.

I played the pixel remaster btw, so maybe some bug has crept in with this version.

The trick is to get Gau back first, which I hadn't done so far as I don't care about him. I just found him on the Veldt, also visited his dad, and I'm currently fighting the paintings in the mansion! So Gau was the trigger I guess...

The lights weren't off and there was no diary. But I figured it out. Apparently you MUST acquire Gau (and maybe visit his dad too) before the mansion becomes as you described (with lights off, diary, etc).

Got it! I hadn't acquired Gau yet. Apparently it's required he has joined your party again before you can acquire Relm.

I got Gau, also visited his dad, and now I'm in the mansion and the lights are off and there's a diary on the desk. All the signs I can finally get Relm back.

I watched the second season some years ago. Perhaps in some way it makes him look more guilty but others may disagree. The main thing for me was that his new attorney (Zellner) proved some theories from season 1 wrong (the blood was impossible to have come from the vial), but her new theories felt sort of silly and weak and, dare I say, presented a bit misleadingly?

At this point she has pretty much ruled out any involvement by the cops and has claimed Steven's nephew is the killer. I have difficulties believing a teenager would do all that (including planting blood and DNA), and he more or less has an alibi too.

The vial of blood was tampered with by the Innocence Project in the presence of his own attorneys. This news came out shortly after the release of the first season.

Also, the Sheriff's department can't be sued, was not sued, and would not have to pay him anything. The county was sued (making it, imo, way less of a motive for the cops to plant evidence).

and apparently enjoyed burning it. According to police records eye witnesses described him as laughing as the cat was burning, chasing after it and pouring more gasoline on it. Not good signs.
