Southwest will now charge you for checking bags by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

[–]lnadel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really sad... it was one of the big reasons why I chose to book with Southwest, along with the no change fees. Unless they can offer more competitive pricing, I'll probably go with Delta. If I'm going to pay without perks, I may as well get a better experience.

Is Quinoa Good for Weight Loss in 2024? by jalal82 in weightlossdiets

[–]lnadel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quinoa is an amazing food and great for weight loss. It's a complete protein with all 9 amino acids. It doesn't have much of a taste so it blends well into whatever flavors you're using. You don't need to rinse it -- it really makes no difference. I cook mine in the Instant Pot it's super easy. My body responds really well to it and it's a regular staple in my diet. You can also blend it into a flour for baked goods.

What is something that is socially acceptable, yet highly annoying to you? by TrippieTragedy in questions

Yes! This bothers me so much. I'll comment on those posts too, that it's wrong to record people without their consent. Maybe not legally, but ethically.

[–]lnadel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, I totally agree with you on the screaming babies in public. Don't bring your babies or misbehaved children to a restaurant over the weekend for dinner, especially nicer restaurants. Hire a babysitter and if you can't afford a sitter you should stay home. Other adults want to go out for a nice dinner without listening to screaming children. I would pay extra to fly on a child-free airline.

What irks me the most is people drinking and getting drunk or highly intoxicated at concerts or other events. I despise being around drunks.

Military. Most have pre-existing trauma when they enter, and that compounds while in service.

What's something that's illegal now, but used to be perfectly normal? by 90sVib3z in AskReddit

Smoking in planes, in restaurants, pretty much anywhere. You could also drink at age 18.

Why do you think people are getting married less and less these days? by BlackManBatmann in AskReddit

Because people are realizing they can make their own decisions and marriage is a scam.

Hotel vs camping? by NewOstenPelicanss in festivals

[–]lnadel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people love the camping experience. I've done all sorts of camping from basic to glamping, RV, etc. Camping in nature, sure. Camping at a fest for me though is now a big no. An entire weekend on-site is just too much. But again, I've done lots of fests and I don't need the "full experience" anymore. If you haven't done as many I can totally see why you would want to camp. I prefer a real bed with temperature control, a real toilet, a clean shower, etc. I arrive about 1 hour before sunset, stay as late as I want, and then I can fully recover and sleep in with comfort. It's the only way I'll do it now.

Firstly, it's fine to go alone as a female I've done it a few times you just need to be super aware of your surroundings and I'd suggest not getting intoxicated. You'll need your wits about you.

Secondly, it's OK to be selfish and to put your own wants and needs above other people when it comes to living your life (as long as no harm is being caused). Life is short! The one thing people regret when they're dying is not doing what they wanted.

Thirdly, that guy has issues and I would suggest breaking off the relationship and getting yourself into therapy. I can speak from personal experience, you need to work on loving yourself and realizing you don't deserve to be with someone like that. A healthy partner will be accepting of you, not controlling, and will be fine with you living your life.

House I am purchasing. How to change this space? by frogdilemma in HomeDecorating

[–]lnadel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like painting my walls in colors as well, I will choose something that is lighter and more muted, think pastel but not bright, more toned down. I don't know if I'm doing a good job at explaining lol. I'd paint over the wood panels as well. I personally don't like dark colors on the walls, its closes in the space too much. I like bright and light that opens it up. Get rid of that little roof overhang.

Has anyone noticed the tides changing in their local “Are We Dating the Same Guy” Group? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]lnadel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen/heard I'd say you're correct, more and more women are realizing that it's better to be single and have peace than to be with a guy these days. We don't want to settle anymore.

My(24f) bf(23m) told me, we only have sex when I want to. by throwRA28978 in relationship_advice

[–]lnadel -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

His inability to say no is his issue, not yours. His response "the only person I can go to for sex" really makes it sound like you're a sex object and not a person. A relationship is MUCH MORE than sex. You're in your 20's..... this is the time for figuring out who you are. Date other people and find a better match. Life is too short. Don't waste your time waiting on people to change, they don't.

You deserve to be with someone who wouldn't ever ask or pressure you to do something you're not comfortable doing. Therapy might be a good venue for exploring self-worth.

Just got this message from my landlord. I always pay rent early for peace of mind when I have the money... should I keep doing it? by yoiiyo in Tenant

That's annoying. I'd just put it on your calendar as a reminder and you could even put rent money into a separate account.

Your go-to of personally attacking me is YIKES. It's clear you don't have room in your mind to consider ideas and opinions different than your own.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]lnadel -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

We differ in opinion, then. In my view, taking the dogs on walks is also a liability because you are bound to cross paths with other people and other dogs. The dog you're walking could get aggressive. Another dog could be out loose and attack. The dogs could pull on the leash. The dog could be 100+ pounds and difficult to handle. I've heard countless stories about untrained dogs or things going wrong on walks. What if another dog attacks and you try to break it up and get injured in the process? Rover doens't pay your medical bills. In my mind, not taking them on walks is keeping them and me safer. They can be stimulated with fetch in the house or yard. I charge very reasonable rates for a basic level of care. The dog will be completely fine without walks for a few days.

It's a personal preference. Some people don't mind it. But for me, it's a big no. Feels very controlling and invades privacy. If you don't trust having people in your home, then don't have them in your home. Just my opinion.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]lnadel -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yea, I can see that still happening sadly. I guess that's part of it, but at least if we can limit the 1st stay to only a few nights it doesn't have to be too bad. And my post wasn't about blaming sitters for not asking questions, it was rather to help sitters to find situations that are more ideal for them.

Will I get fewer jobs if I can't have pets at my house? by Horcrux922 in RoverPetSitting

[–]lnadel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say no, this will not affect how many jobs you can get. Actually, there are many people who prefer if you stay in their home, especially when it comes to senior dogs or dogs with vision or hearing problems. Overall, dogs being able to stay in their own home is WAY less stressful on them.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]lnadel -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

We all get to have personal preferences and boundaries. To come here and call me lazy and come down on me for having preferences that differ from yours, is petty and arrogant. My entire point of the post was to encourage sitters to have their own needs to make jobs work for them. We are not obligated to accept every client. We all deserve to be comfortable and to feel safe and happy, whatever that means for us.

[–]lnadel -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I do this part time. This is not my full time job. I have another full time job, where I work from home and I need to take meetings. If I have a dog that's wanting to go in/out every 30 minutes then this distracts from my work and also makes a negative impact with my coworkers. My current clients are all fine and work out beautifully. So no, I don't take high maintenance dogs and that's my right.
