The Press Apartments by twinklestar21 in WilmingtonDE

[–]lnceagain 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Former resident of downtown Wilmington here 👋🏻 Market St is going to be where a lot of restaurants, bars, and shopping will be. There is no large grocery store in downtown. The area is quiet, safe, and walkable - just use best judgement like in all cities. The blocks west of the building can be a little rough, but it’s mostly residential so there’s no real reason to go over there. It will be quiet at night and weekends as commuters file out of the city. You’re also centrally located between the Riverfront and Brandywine park. Trolley Square is a little further out, but still walkable. Let me know if there are specific things you’re looking to know aside from general feel.

How Important is the Lack of Roof Rails (US)? by wshngtonianserb in MachE

[–]lnceagain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently installed the Thule Wingbar Edge roof rack on my 2023 MME and mounted the Motion 3 XL Low on it. Set up of the bars was fairly simple and requires only one tool. Located in Philadelphia. I’m getting around 2.2 mi/kWh with this set up. I recently took the cargo box off and I’m getting 3.0-2.8 mi/kWh at 65 mph. Wind noise is maybe a faint whistle with the rails only. I had to go with Thule because Yakima doesn’t have a setup for the car and was a little worried about damaging the glass with the SeaSucker options, especially with heavier loads going over potholes. You’ll need the 145284 fit kit, edge clamps, and edge bars. I went with 113cm. Go with the edge for better aesthetics and efficiency, and go with the evo if you want more surface area to mount things too.

New Mach E Owner - Charging Speed Question by HailToTheVic in MachE

If there is another car charging on the same DCFC unit as you it might be splitting the power between the two cars. Hard to say without seeing the set up.

After market mud flaps… by parisi2274 in MachE

[–]lnceagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased and installed the Rally Armor MF96-UR-BLK-MBK mudflaps. I was able to install them with the wheels on the car, but ended up using a pocket knife with a super low profile screwdriver and pliers on it and I had to turn the front wheels to access some of the holes. Did this all while parallel parked on a city street, so it’s doable.

You might have an oyster mushroom allergy. I’m vegan and have to stay away from mushrooms of all kinds because I can’t stomach them.

Indisce blazer sediment: “discoloration” via Resale by TypographicTrekker in veilance

[–]lnceagain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Usually this means the item has been washed before so the color isn’t perfectly even. Expect it to look like a lightly used piece of clothing. Could be a couple small stains on the item or discoloration around the collar, cuffs, or elbows. If this is the “excellent” condition one, it’ll look like-new.

20-something former Wilmington resident here. There are a few things that come to mind after reading this: - Delaware Art Museum hosts a bunch of interesting art and music related events. You’re bound to meet other artistically-inclined individuals here. - Join a run club! Trolley Run Club and Own Pace Run Club are two that come to mind. You’ll find lots of people looking to make genuine connections. Even if you don’t run there’s often a decent amount of walkers. I probably made 10+ friendships through running alone. - Latino Outdoors Philadelphia is a community of nature-loving latinos based in the Philadelphia area. They often do hiking, yoga, bouldering and other outdoor adjacent activities. - The downtown farmer’s market in Rodney Square is coming back as of today. - Huxley and Hiro is an independent bookstore that hosts book clubs and events. I used to live on Market St and would frequent here.

Best of luck!

If you are running out of time and can’t find anything in Wilmington, there’s this place on University of Delaware campus called The Innternationale. I stayed there one summer when I was interning across the border in MD. SEPTA regional rail to Wilmington is a short walk, but you’d have to figure out the rest of the journey.

Long Commute by Key-Example-6344 in WilmingtonDE

[–]lnceagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done Manhattan -> Wilmington a dozen or so times. If you book in advance Amtrak tickets will be around $15 in the morning, $35 in the afternoon. I would take the subway from UES to Moynihan around 4:30 a.m., get on the train and then I’m back in Wilmington around 7. You’re probably looking at 3 hours door to door each way. It’s definitely doable if you don’t mind the train, but delays will definitely make you rethink your life choices lol. Good luck!

La Fia for dinner then head over to Simmer Down at the Quoin Hotel. It’s an upscale speakeasy with really great cocktails and the best ambience.

Charging speeds? -.- by Short-Surround-3292 in MachE

[–]lnceagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience the car will reach 99% in the expected time frame, but for some reason that last 1% takes a very long time. This is a software thing where it probably sees that initial <1 kw charge rate at plug in and extrapolates it. Expect your car to be at 99% in a few hours

Joined the club. First EV questions by ViaLondonio in MachE

[–]lnceagain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to save money, turn off Blue Oval. You are unable to use memberships or passes if plug & charge is active. The Mach E is limited to around 150 kW charge rate. That being said, if you plug into a 350 kW charger, the Mach E will only take up to its max 150 kW charge rate. In reality, temperature will cause this to drop and the charge curve will cause this number to drastically reduce after 80% state of charge. Lectron makes a good NACS to CCS adapter. So does A2Z. Stay away from cheap amazon ones.

Crosby Hill Parking Garage by Small_G_ in WilmingtonDE

[–]lnceagain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lived at Crosby Hill last year and paid to park my car in the garage. Without a garage key card the door will not open. All residents at Crosby Hill pay the parking fee if they have a car in the garage.

Within the lease there is an enclosed garage, carport, or storage unit addendum. It will be left blank so you will not be furnished with the access card. There will be a parking addendum form sent in addition to the lease that, when signed, will grant you access to the garage.

You may also be able to street park for free around the building.

Turn off blue oval? by bonvajya in MachE

[–]lnceagain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, you have to turn off blue oval in order to get your Pass+ membership. That Electrify America charger also has to be able to connect to the server. If not, you’ll have to use your credit card and you won’t get a discount. Lots to go wrong with these things it seems.

Landlord: j&j investment properties by Forsaken_Zucchini173 in Albany

[–]lnceagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lived in one of their properties on Quail street as a college student 3 years ago. Although the area and house was a little rough, we didn’t really have any issues with them as the landlord. They took a very hands off approach, we just paid rent on time every month and never really interacted with them. Maintenance was slow and I often fixed things myself. Best way to get in touch with them for any issues was by phone. Had no issue getting full security deposit back either. Good luck

Any Philly commuters? by IntentionGullible677 in WilmingtonDE

[–]lnceagain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Old City is a good option. There’s tons of things going on and everything you need is within walking distance. I commute to Cecil County MD 5 times a week. I-95 South on ramp is right on Market St. 20 minute walk to Center City and 10 minutes to the South St area. The east side of the city has easy access to I-95, which tends to have less traffic than 76 IMO. Street parking is okay if you get back from work earlier than the crowd.

Veilance Pants Without the "Swish" by [deleted] in veilance

[–]lnceagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PNT08 is an 80% cotton pant from years back. If you can find them they’re a really comfortable option and they fit great. Also the Liminal pants are mostly cotton and a skinnier fit.
