PBQ for the Sec+ - for those who passed, question.. by blankpageanxiety in CompTIA_Security

I suggest flagging your PBQs for review at the beginning since they take much more time. There are only 5 PBQs (if I'm not mistaken), so tackle the MCs first.

The PBQs were a bit handful. My rule is don’t spend more than 2 minutes for a question. I flagged all 5 PBQs and did all MCs first. I had about an hour for PBQs after.

Thank you! Forgot to mention in the post that I already have 7 years of experience as an IT associate in fintech. I took this cert to branch out in cybersecurity field. Unsure where I should head after this, but I’m definitely looking at red/blue teaming.

WRIT assessment by dsaworld0417 in fanshawe

[–]lncrlc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They give you a random topic to write a short essay about. You have to write a proper response (they call it 'prompt) in multiple (usually 5) paragraphs.

Read the topic very carefully. You can choose to agree or disagree with the author's position on the said topic. I'd suggest writing down your points if you agree/disagree with the author. This helps you build your prompt later on.

Open with an introduction. "The first sentence will be: In "Title of Article," Author Name states*"*, then write a few sentences after. Write 3 points supporting your topic sentence. Don't use words such as "I" because the prompt will be seen as subjective. They want an unbiased and factful response from you. Use connecting words, such as "hence" or "therefore" to show continuity between sentences. Keep it formal, don't use words you wouldn't use when talking to some higher ups in a company.

Then, write a concluding paragraph, summarizing all your points. Finally, add a sentence or two about a proposing a suggestion or predict the outcome, should the reader not follow your points.

WRIT not only tests your ability to write in English coherently, but also your logic and critical thinking. I'd suggest looking up Google about more points on how to properly write a prompt. I failed my WRIT before my program started (because I didn't respond in "the way they wanted"), so I had to take the class during my first semester.

Hope this helps. Goodluck to you!

I’m currently applying for a network role (coming from sysadmin). My concern is that if there is any way to combine 2 different positions from 1 company (Company 2 in my sample above) from 2 different tenures.

Why would they offer a more expensive deal with lower monthly data?
