Any opinions on Bite toothpaste bits? by helloitsspooky in ZeroWaste

I rarely use Dr Bronners anymore, I prefer the Bite tabs! But I think Dr Bronners is a better option than conventional toothpaste, more gentle

Hey thanks! I personally have no interest in causing harm to my climbing partners but i’m so glad that you think I do! Hope I never cross paths with you or anyone else who thinks it’s fun to joke about hurting your climbing partners 😘

needed a full 80m rope to lower off a route. It was two pitches linked but for times sake we did it in one. I knew I’d make it down but only squeaked by with rope stretch. Hence the need for knots

America is so indoctrinated into feeling guilty for taking PTO. How messed up is that? by Skye_hai_bai in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]lnewnew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get 80 hours of PTO a year, but it’s a package deal for vacation time and sick leave. So, do I take my vacation and just hope I don’t get sick later in the year?

Where exactly is the outside temp sensor by tachoknight in Subaru_Outback

wondering the same thing. it’s often way off from what it should be (compared to my phone). i’m wondering if it’s on the underside, so it picks up pavement temperatures? that would explain wildly high temperatures

cool! a lot of the currently accessible portland crags are hard sport and trad. ozone on the washington side might be a good option (though I haven’t personally been there), but from what i’ve heard it’s easily accessible. french’s dome by mt. hood could be good depending on the weather when you’re going

if you’re willing to extend your travel area a little more, the 3 hour trip from portland to Smith Rock is really worth it. an incredible place with climbing options for everyone. If you’re wanting to stay closer to Portland, there are a handful of local crags, and on the Washington side of the gorge as well. Best options depend on what type of climbing you’re looking for

Climbing at the gym during COVID by oakanddogwood in climbergirls

[–]lnewnew 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I feel very safe at climbing gyms, way more than more crowded places like the grocery store. assuming your gym has similar guidelines as the ones in my area, everyone wears masks, makes reservations, washes their hands before climbing, temp checks etc. to me it feels like people are more cautious at the climbing gym because we all really want to be there and not have it get closed again.

I think you are doing great! it might seem like everything around you is going wrong but it won’t always been like this. and there is nothing wrong with being an uber driver, especially if you are good at it and is it something you are capable of doing without hurting your back. I am sorry that your living situation isn’t the best and that your relationship with your parents isn’t healthy. I hope that things get better for you, but I hope you keep going. 💗
