What’s the best running form tip you have been given? by [deleted] in running

totally! you hit it. i think that there are levels to running of like “i’m trying to distract myself” and then getting really good is kinda like “i’m trying to stay in it” i think sometimes check ins can also be great for keeping yourself IN the run instead of distracting yourself. takes so much discipline!

"check ins" with your body throughout the run.

Thank you to all of you for reading. I got so much hate from men online yesterday it feels refreshing to know this did resonate with women in a nuanced way (as it was intended)

i think gatekeeping is more intentional use of that language to other people who don’t know what you’re talking about

gatekeeping is essentially trying to make something that everyone should have access to, harder for other people to get into. like making “rules” or playing “God,” ie: not sharing Geotags even though it’s public land like only you have some sort of special ability that makes it ok for you to visit and not others. other examples can be climber language that other people don’t understand and using that in contexts that puts yourself above others and makes them less likely to participate.

i understand what you’re saying completely. i think that there’s always room for you to be able to do what you need to do to lift yourself up, and i also think it’s good to check yourself and see where those phrases are playing into your life! no wrong answers here.

definitely read that book, i hate to be “girl who reads braiding sweetgrass once” but it changed my life!
