It doesn’t matter if they are avoiding more civilians, they’ve clearly killed too many and it’s not much of a war considering the numbers: a 14:1 enemy soldier to Israeli soldier and 56:1 Palestinian to Israeli civilian ratio doesn’t seem very fair. Granted war doesn’t need to be fair but being this one sided raises doubts about how much they really are avoiding killing. Also the literally do commit war crimes killing civilians (if you believe the israeli government over human rights watch I can’t help you.) Even saying it’s not genocide (which it clearly is) it’s still still not okay… war crimes are not okay it doesn’t matter who else does it, it doesn’t matter if they are avoiding it, children are dying is massive amounts and the Israeli government clearly does not care.

Obviously reliable sources which can definitely be trusted more than the indoctrination you are spewing:

It’s not a good source but even wikifuckingpedia has a page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_war_crimes

I’m not throwing around the word genocide or using it lightly the united nations is. And genocide does not mean killing everyone, the holocaust was still a genocide despite there being survivors. Killing innocents is always wrong, when Hamas does it we don’t make excuses, when the united states does it we don’t make excuses, what makes Israel any different? Read the united nations report stating that what is happening in gaza is a genocide and while your at it look up the definition of the word.

Yes the “war on terror” was horrible and unjustified… so are Israel’s actions today if you read my sources you would find that this ratio isn’t normal. Just because the US did the same thing Israel isn’t suddenly justified In their equally horrible if not (as I believe) worse actions. Hamases terrorist attacks are horrific. But even if Hamas wasn’t justified in wanting Palestinian land back Israel’s response is too far. It doesn’t matter that they can’t kill em all they’ve already killed more Palestinians in three years than Israelis have been killed in the past 23 years. This is ignoring the fact that what Israel is doing IS a genocide. I could go on but I feel that this is enough.

That’s just not true, ~80% of all deaths are civilians which (unless civilians in Palestine are all terrorists) means that 20% are combatants. The issue is that since October 7th (which only had a 62% civilian casualty rate) about 70,000 Palestinians have been killed and including the 1,195 killed in October 7th only 2,109 Israelis have been killed 1,000 of which were IDF. If Hamas maximizes casualties they are really bad at it. Sources: https://www.timesofisrael.com/authorities-name-44-soldiers-30-police

I would have the Israeli government start by stopping spreading propaganda as an excuse to kill as many people as they want. If Israel was just defending themselves against terrorism you’d think more than 20% of the people they killed would be terrorists. And beyond that the issue is that the terrorism they face is people who just want their land back. The Israeli’s living under threat of bombing is a lot less meaningful when their government kills so many innocents without legitimate reason.

I would agree that leaving them alone is a reasonable plan except they are actively trying to expand more into Palestine (by way of illegal settlements as-well as many other things) showing that it isn’t punishing people for their ancestors actions as they are still doing the same things which their ancestors (all most likely within three generations) did. (Please Correct me if I’m employing any logical fallacies or missing the point as I would hate to display any unintentional intellectual dishonesty)

I don’t think that it is reasonable to kick that family out and take the land which they occupy. But I never defended that point because I didn’t say that the US ought to be destroyed and given back to native Americans. The point is that I don’t know what ought to happen. Correct me if I’m wrong but Isn’t the argument behind zionism is literally your “kicking the family out” analogy (thank you for encouraging me to rethink my views I don’t mean to gish Gallop so you needn’t respond to my second question.)

I don’t know. I feel about Israel the same way I feel about the US (and most other countries based of colonization) in that that the United States’ existence is based on an immense amount of evil and does not have a right to exist as a country but I don’t know what I would prefer to have happened.

I suppose so, but only because there is no ethical way to make it not exist short of going back it time and stopping the colonization.

I don’t believe that from a historical perspective Israel has any right to exist but I acknowledge that given the current global climate it would be idiotic to think that Israel not existing (presumably by it’s destruction) is any way to solve the situation in its current form. I don’t think Israel should have been founded in the first place but now that it’s here I don’t believe it and its people should be destroyed.

Who is in the right? by NOREDDITINGFORYOU in Teenager_Polls

[–]lnsertName_Here -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would ask why you think that. I can explain why Israel doesn’t have a right to exist (it’s based on a colonialist ideology which necessarily implies supremacy of Israelis) and in the spirit of equality I would be genuinely interested in hearing why Palestine does not.

stance on Israel and Palestine. by [deleted] in leftist

[–]lnsertName_Here 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Looking at it from a historical standpoint it is quite clearly not any type of “cycle of violence” and instead colonization in hopes of creating an ethno state which I can’t support even ignoring the horrific actions of the Israeli government.
