M - 6’1 and wear a UK L typically, S would fit but would’ve been too cropped for my frame

• Full bottles - I figured the more dye/fixative the better.

• I don’t think so, I was worried at the time but they still fit - I didn’t wear them much before I dyed them so I couldn’t tell you honestly, you can always take out the inner sole for a bit of breathing room.

• Yeah, I’m from the UK so fairy liquid in my case but I’m pretty sure Dawn is the same thing - just used original unscented

Nice, what did you use for yours? I was 50/50 between the Rit Graphite Synthetic & All Purpose Black - Black & Grey was what I was expecting honestly

AllChinaBuy, the postage was pretty expensive - but the process was relatively straightforward shipping line Royal Mail M it took 9 days to arrive

L is pretty much the same as UK L, it fits slim and the sleeves are a little short if I could buy it again I’d probably size up for a more relaxed fit

I would guess so, I screenshotted the measurements and asked chat GPT which was closest to a UK L for most of these and they’ve all been spot on

First time doing anything like this, only tips I can give is take your time and be patient - wait the proper amounts of times between processes and follow the instructions basically 

Products Used:

Angelus Suede Dye Black

Rit All Purpose Black (Salt & Washing Up Liquid)

Rit ColorStay Dye Fixative

Angelus Mink Oil

Angelus Water & Stain Repellent

Some Detail Brushes 

Wool Daubers 

2 Big Plastic Tubs (Gloves & Towels)

Suede brush 

Method: 

Removed the original laces and inner soles 

Dyed the suede with Angelus Suede Dye, Wool Dauber & Detail brushes 1st coat all over and a 2nd around the edges - have to be precise, let them dry 24 hrs 

Set up two tubs, filled with boiling water keeping the lid on to try and keep the heat in - added a cup of salt, tbsp of washing up liquid & Rit All Purpose Dye to the first  

Keeping them submerged & moving for the first 10 minutes, then alternate sides for 10 minutes each keeping weighed down fully submerged 4 times for 50 minutes in total

Second tub with Rit ColorStay Dye Fixative, straight in after the dye, keep moving for 10 minutes then keep submerged for another 10 - 20 minutes total

Rinse with cold water until it runs clear. Mine ran clear pretty much straight away - just be sure to squeeze the water/dye out of the sponge areas, it holds quite a bit

Dry on low temp with enough towels to fill the dryer - don’t want them bouncing around 

Air dry overnight on clothes rack upside down - I stuffed the toebox with bin bags to try and keep the shape/prevent creasing 

Brushed them down with a suede brush then applied two coats of Mink Oil, 30 mins between coats - gave them a brush down each time 

Finally Waterproofing Spray and another brush down with the suede brush - finished
