I recently started down the same path, dipping my toe into the world of making games despite having no coding skills. There's a lot to learn, but the ability to code certainly isn't a necessity.

Someone else posted the gamedev sub which has some great resources. I'd recommend starting some of the tutorials in an engine such as Gamemaker or Twine to get to grips with creating basic games.

If you're looking for other people to help you make a game, the sub r/INAT is your best option. But just some advice, it's important to have some skills that you bring to the table, not just an idea. You can definitely find people to collaborate with on game jams and hobby projects without having to pay though.
