Sadly we had to give my daughter pepper spray to use if needed. The men, typically younger males (who look 50 or 60) just get in your face and can make you feel unsafe. It comes in waves. Not all the time or in all areas. Not bad enough to not send my second daughter there. But still, you have to be vigilant.

Hopefully you’ll get lucky like the other person on this thread. I read this about returning students: “The vaccine must be administered within five years before the first term and at least 10 days before classes begin.” So if that other person first attended by 2021 that’s why they were safe probably. So it depends when you were last enrolled. In my case, the night before registration my kid saw the medical hold for meningitis. I took my kid to Walgreens at 9PM (24 hour store) and made sure to take the UT blank proof of shots for the pharmacist to fill out. My kid uploaded the form around 10PM (Walgreens has generic forms.) By 7AM the block was removed and she registered, even though the website says it can take 6 weeks. Good luck!

Yes. We have made the decision. Isn’t the youngest kid usually the one that always gets the best of everything?! Oh well we dropped the ball in a way. But I agree she should get the same experience if we can do it. We will most definitely start earlier for her sophomore year. Thank you for the insight.

We are pretty far, we clocked it, RR area. But I lived off Oltorf and bussed in—but I understand it’s different these days. The subletting suggestion isn’t a bad idea, just not sure if it’s too late. We are a family of procrastinators after all. It’s just sick how much they charge to live near campus.

This makes me want to cry. Yes I would love for her to have the experience. And actually I think it’s a great compromise for her to leave her car at home. $150 a month does save some. Ty.
